he never worked with O before, never had a shot. Now that he's at USC, O may give him a look though.

The NFL doesn't light a fire for everybody. Also, it's likely he's making more money as OC at USC than non-OC for an NFL team. I saw there was interest from NFL teams, but nothing I saw mentioned it being as an OC.
