I don’t care to argue the call but the fact it wasn’t reviewed destroys a lot of credibility.

Isn't the current rule you must "secure the ball" before it hits the ground or going out of field of play?

Two hands, moving the ball to the breadbasket (towards the sideline side as they are taught) would be "securing the ball" if he'd run out of bounds.

That's all you need to do to decide if fumble or not... if that's an LSU reciever and he stepped out of bounds at the point that ball is on his left side would you be screaming holy hell because that was ruled incomplete?

If that's a step out of bounds and they ruled it incomplete you bet they'd review and overturn it.

I think the officials told Ed it had already been looked at and a timeout wouldn’t change that

Seems like refs are taught now to let the play run its course on close turnovers. The A&M pick six in the second quarter where the ball was rolling on the ground was played out and not this one. Awful officiating. Plus, the whistle was blown late proving he didn't know. If that was called a fumble on the field, it would have been upheld.

This blatant in-game inconsistency is the big problem. Same with the last two PIs, one on each team. They were letting that same play go for an entire game and 5 OTs. The PI on Greedy was just icing. The refs let it get personal.

owever, he then gets a firm grasp on the ball with his right hand in the next frame and has full possession of the ball, takes a full step and then is hit by Delpit causing the fumble.

What you're describing is not a fumble. It's an incomplete pass.

Where does your info come from? I’m not questioning you just trying to find an origin other than heard from a guy who heard from a guy.

1) He never tucked the ball away. No one runs with the ball held out in front of them, like it is when Delpit makes contact. No possession

2) The whistle blew immediately. LSU cannot be awarded a recovery due to an "inadvertent" whistle. The possessing team gets the option of redoing the play, by rule. So A&M retains possession either way

There is no tuck rule in college

And the whistle did not blow before greedy picked up the ball.

when O was questioning the call, telling him not to call a TO hoping for a video review because they weren’t changing the call regardless of what video might show.

Wow. If this is true, that's pretty damn pathetic.

Catch; football move; fumble. Ball game.

You can’t review this. The refs blew it dead on the field, thus no recovery could be made. They should have let it play out and ruled it a fumble. It’s a frustrating rule. Only a ball called a fumble on the field can be reviwed. Non- fumble calls can never be overturned and called a fumble.

Slow motion replay is why refs miss this call. In real time it’s an obvious catch/fumble.... Of course no replay at all is even worse.

Reminds me of a Hester play that went against us in 06 auburn (?) I think . Another notorious screw job by the refs.

It was called incomplete in real time, there was no replay officially.

I know. I’m just saying that slow mo is misleading on these type plays. If one were to review it. (Looking at the videos in the original post)

Fumble. Had he caught that at the 1, crossed goalline and delpit make that hit in the endzone they wouldve called a td

There were so many questionable calls by the officials.

And even the ones they got right, they made them in a way that gave A&M free time outs/additional time.

Dude you’re making shite up as you go. A fumble or non-fumble call can absolutely be reviewed and overturned.
