I know I will get shite on for starting this, but I use this site to chat and get things off my chest. So I don't care what y'all think.

My father was a great man, a few posters here had even met him one evening at my home. He was also an alcoholic. But you know what, he got sober, he turned his life around and had made amends and a new life for himself.

He then got the cancer diagnosis a few weeks ago. We changed our Thankgiving plan, decided on a Florida trip to let him meet his grandson. Well we made it in time to say hi, but he never got to meet his grandson.

Only posting to remind everyone to take care of themselves. Love your family and do not take them for granted, even if they suck sometimes. You never know when you won't see them again.

Sorry to hear of your loss this time of year. It's nice, though, you saw him overcome his troubles and leave this world on the up and in a better place.
