title says it all

lets assume DB injury isnt a career ending one, and BM produces at a decent level expected, do we hold onto both of them?

or do we not wait to find out id DB can play again and just do an injury settlement and walk away from DB being party of the team right now?

what are realistic expectations for both guys chances of staying on the team?

Have to see what kind of year BM has. If he lights it up then we resign him and cut ties with Dez

Neither seems most likely.

One will be on his way to 36 years old.

One will be recovering from an achilles.

Chances are neither.

I'd expect the BM signing to be just for this season. Dez has a few more years left in him but only concern is timing of his injury. He may not be ready to go until Sept or Oct next year, but hell it's November now and we signed him. People put too much on the hitting 30 y/o thing, it can be true for RBs and CBs, maybe speed WRs (except Ginn apparently) but the physical type WRs, red zone jump ball type guys can play well into their mid 30s at a high level.

Question will be will we resign Dez early in FA or just keep contact with him and do like we did this year and resign him once season starts and we know he is healthy.

can you imagine fielding a receiving core of MT, DB, BM, TG, and TS to go along with our insane RB talent

might need lawyers to figure out ball distribution quotas for all the stars we have

although age and injury would be telling the story of BM and DB for most teams...with MT contract ending and big bump in pay coming..I wouldn't be surprised to see saints take one or both on a cheap deal...seeing that Brees makes everyone better...butttt doubt it

Marshall is next to done and he's geriatric at this point

Bryant is still young enough he might contribute for a few more years

The Saints can probably have either player on the vet minimum next year if they want them.

Assuming Marshall is a positive acquisition, I'd expect they would offer both of these guys if for no other reason than out of respect. Whether they would make the team is another question.

Anyone who starts another "Do we keep (insert name here)..." thread before the end of the season should be f*cking banned.

If we win the superbowl this year Brees won't be throwing either the ball so I ask would it even be worth it?

Neither of these guys will be on the opening day roster next season. If they are the Saints are in bad shape at WR. That means none of the WR's behind MT has shown improvement.

Brees is coming back no matter what for the TD pass record.

I think the team was impressed with Dez, and he will be cheap to retain and will want to prove himself for one last nice contract!

It's a win-win for the Saints.
