Nah. Not on the initial play where they got the first down and he went down in the open field. It's the same thing Gurley did the weekend before. The mistake was made when they didn't kneel and the chaos after that.

I think I'm baffled more at that decision than what Brossette did, if anything.

Why the frick don't you simply kneel it?

So, did Brosette bet on us not covering or did O bet on us to cover?

That's where the mistake was made if you want to go by the book.

I’m going with O bet to cover. The offense was pissed about his “we need better offensive players” comment last week. They knew he had money on LSU to cover and this was a big “frick you” to him.

Ok, so what if he "does the right thing" and falls to the ground to play keep away, and then they run a play (like they exactly did), and he fumbles for the scoop and score to tie it up? That's my point. We both know it didn't happen. But without the benefit of having hindsight and arguing what the best strategy to do is, it doesn't make sense in that situation. Especially if you're not going to kneel the very next snap in the victory formation.

That’s the point. Brossette has no idea that Orgeron was going to (stupidly) continue to call plays.

Yep. Why would he think that they would? Now, once they don't kneel, he needs to do what the coach says to do.

Because coach Ed is an idiot. He wanted style points; that's why he went for it on 4th down instead of kicking the field goal to go up 17 and icing the game.

When LSU didn't make that first, Arkansas got some momentum and got within one score. Ed at that point risked everything for another score after Brossette took the dive to attempt to ice the game again.

Did y'all watch that game? If we had scored a TD with :25 left, there was ZERO CHANCE that Arkie could score two TD's in less than 20 seconds.

In all, it really doesn't make much difference.

How does the defense not get any blame by the gambler's?

They gave up the spread in the fourth quarter.

Gurley’s situation was different. It was 4th down with enough time for Aaron Rodgers to score. Once Gurley got the 1st down, he stopped short of goal line; thus ending the game as Rams took the knee and ran out the clock.
If Nick scores the game is over. No way AR offense is going to score twice on our D in under 1 minute with no timeouts. But, for us to not kneel on it after Nick sat down was the odd part. You can still lose the game at that point

Brosette made the right call up 1, but not up 7.

Up 1
Down 1
Down 2
These are the situations in which Brossette's move was correct.Any other situation and you score the TD.

I get the first slide. But the one with about 3 seconds left was goofy. Just score.
