I think that line alone might've warranted the Mike Myers casting. Wouldn't shock me if he wanted to be part of the project for that reason.

Movie was good. Not great but good.
It was a celebration of their music more than anything else, and sales of queen songs should reflect that.
As a biopic, it felt rather aimless. Things just happen in the film. There's no sense of progression or structure

He said, “There’s no teenagers in the world going to be riding around headbanging to this song!” Something to that extent.
I thought he said "banging on each other" or something like that.

I haven’t read this thread but I came to say that anyone who misses the chance to hear Queen in the theatre is making a big mistake. The movie was somber and a bit depressing, but worth it to hear and see those performances. I had chills and goosebumps multiple times.

I want to see it, but I’m just a poor boy from a poor family.

Guess I need to take a good long look at myself. Thanks for the insight man.

I thought the guy who played Brian May nailed him perfectly. He's pretty soft spoken and kind of emotionless so it wasn't that hard of a role, but none-the-less I thought he was spot on.
The guy who played Freddie did a good job. Only thing that bothered me were the big bags under the actors eyes. Seems like they could have covered those up and he would have looked a lot more like Freddie.
The beginning of the movie felt really rushed. Was kind of hoping they would have shown more of younger Farrokh Bulsara from his youth before he met the band.
I enjoyed it. It was good, not great. The day after I watched it I just got on youtube and watched a documentary along with tons of interviews and performances from Queen. I enjoyed that more than the actual movie.

I didn’t enjoy this movie at all. But I also think that Bohemian Rhapsody is the most overrated song of all time, so take that for what it’s worth

A truly awesome movie in A Star is Born was in the middle of its run and people were looking a month ahead to this fluff piece.
I'd rather discuss a new movie than one that is being remade for the 47th time

Saw it last night and I loved it. Singer did a great job directing the scenes about the creation of some of the iconic songs. My observations:
--Loved the reference to the tape almost being literally worn out from the overdubs on BR
--when they get back together in Miami's office, Freddie says "I need you and you need me". That would be eye-rolling cheese wrt to almost any other band. But I LOVED the movie made subtle reference to the fact that all 4 members WROTE a #1! That is why they are arguably the GOAT.
--the father wasn't made into a cardboard cutout of a needless foil (they unfortunately did this - ahistorically - to JR Cash's dad in Walk the Line)
--the final scene when they walk off the stage at Wembley - shown from the perspective of the drummer - which goes into slo mo just gave me chills for some reason. I think it was the look on Freddie's face
--I understand the narrative choice to frame the movie as a lead up to Live Aid, but I actually was hoping it would carry into 1990 when they recorded Innuendo and he was on his last leg. They at least gave a hat tip to this by playing The Show Must Go On right at the end.
--It was unbelievable to me how much May and Mercury actors looked like the real thing - especially May. The kid from Jurassic Park and The Pacific was awesome as Deacon as well
--Loved the We Will Rock You composition scene. That percussion riff is such an embedded part of life, that it blows one's mind to realize they actually had to conceive of it and write it!

The movie sucked! Felt like a vh1 behind the music. Poorly directed.

Just my opinion. I thought the acting was good and the final scene at live aid was cool.
But the layout of the movie was boring to me. It was basically showing how each song came about. Would have liked a more personal story about Freddy and the members of queen.

saw it last night at the new Alamo in Katy
I enjoyed the movie, it was really well made, couple of comments
Malek did a great job, not an easy part to play and he nailed his walk, his mannerisms, his stage presence
the Brian May character was pretty scary how accurate it was, however May is kind of a prickly guy and the way he was written made him seem like an older brother from a 80s sitcom - "Ohhhhh Freddddddie"
Deacon and Taylor characters were well done, i enjoyed the three guys being family men and FM being the group's raging diva dynamic
There were parts of the movie that were so cliched and hackish that they were noticeably jarring to the movie's flow.
The music in the theater was great, however the movie at its core seems sort of hollow.
Singer hit the usual cliche biopic conflict notes, the homophobia talking points, then his gay inclusion talking points and the ultimate universal acceptance for FM and the Band's genius. But there wasn't much depth to some of these moments in the Band's life and times, especially such limited screen time spent on CONFLICTS. You know there were some epics fights among those guys, would have made more sense to show FM as a selfish a-hole and why they pretty much broke up. Then the Live Aid redemption bit would have had a lot more gravity.

There is no argument they are the goat. You are a fan. That is cool.
To give you perspective, RS, which slavishly devotes ita rankings to classic rock, older artists has the following great artists ahead: The Beatles, stones, beach boys, Zep, Velvet Underground U2, Ramones, Clash, Who, Nirvana, Sly, Doors, the band, Byrds.

Number 1, you aren’t talking about the states.
Which songs? Are you including My Under Pressure.
