Gurriel, White, Davis, and low-A guy for Votto.

Sign Cruz to DH.

Bout to give Brantley $32M. Not a huge fan unless they can move Reddick.

The Astros are “closing in” on a deal with veteran outfielder Michael Brantley, according to Ken Rosenthal of The Athletic (Twitter link). It’s expected to promise Bratley something in the range of two years and $32MM if completed, per the report.

There's gotta be a phase 2 to this. An agreed upon trade to move Reddick out or bring Realmuto in by moving Tucker out

Seems like very good value though for you guys.

I don’t see why there has to be. Brantley will likely DH plenty to keep him healthy. And if you do strike a deal with Tucker then you have him to fill in LF more. The value for the player is excellent.

Like the move. Brantley gets hurt a lot but when healthy, he's really solid player every year. Not a bad price for him either IMO. I definitely welcome this.

Also quick question. Even though we probably aren't gonna sign him, would you guys be for or against signing Britton?

I’m guessing we will DH him more to try to keep him healthy

Overall I’m a fan of the move

I’d be over the moon if we could find a way to deal Reddick

I agree it’d be smart to DH Brantley a lot to try and keep him healthy but I 100% will not be on board with Tucker maybe starting 2 games a week

If he’s not gonna play much then go ahead and deal him for Realmuto or an ace

Trade reddick and OF would be George/Tuck/Kemp/Jake/Brantley/perhaps another FA

Obviously trading reddick and his contract is way easier said than done though

Also, shoutout to community leader JWho for the perfectly timed skeleton pic earlier. Finally made Ludlow get active

Yeah I would be fine with them dealing Reddick and this makes trading Tucker easier also. I just don’t think it backs them into a corner where they have to make a move.

Please let Cruz be next

Put me on record as a fan of this move.

I was wrong about Beltran from a production standpoint, so I can’t miss with Brantley.

I am curious how this will play out with Reddick, Kemp, Marisnick, and Tucker.

But like the Aggie said, if we can have Gattis as DH only, this is an upgrade for sure, but you would expect some defense for 16M per, I would think

Actually as badly as I wanted Cruz at DH, I'm fine with the idea of DHing Brantley and let Tucker sink or swim in LF.
