In the third inning of the first game of the series, security removed a man claiming to be an Astros employee from the media-credentialed area next to the Boston Red Sox dugout, according to multiple security sources who were on the scene at the time of the incident. The man had a small camera and was texting frequently, but did not have a media credential.
After the man was removed another Astros staffer intervened - according to sources who were on the scene - and tried to convince security that he was authorized to be in the area next to the dugout. The man was not allowed back into the credentialed area, but was allowed to remain in the ballpark.
Security sources say they had been warned about the man, because of some suspicious activity in Houston’s ALDS series against the Cleveland Indians. It’s unclear as to whether or not that warning came from Major League Baseball or the Red Sox.
MLB Chief Communications Officer Pat Courtney acknowledged Saturday night’s incident in an email on Tuesday afternoon, saying, “We are aware of the matter and it will be handled internally.”

The Blue Jays were caught doing the same thing a few years back and nothing came of it. In fact, the story pretty much went away after a few days. I don't think anybody cares.

Might end up in a fine. That’s what Boston got a year ago for the Apple Watch stealing signs thing

MLB will issue a statement today regarding the #Astros? ? steal-signing allegations but no fine or penalty will be issued at this time

No one else in the organization was charged and the guy was fired. So hopefully so, Houston.

Why would the stros have a red employee?

Supposedly he was there to see if the Sox were using the dugout monitors to steal signs.
I'll have to try to dig up the story but when the Red Sox played in Houston, there some some type of chatter about Alex Cora watching Charlie Morton's bullpen warmup from a dugout monitor

ALL teams do this, majority aren't this obvious, dumb, and get caught.
Red Sox were accused of doing the same in recent years.

LOL, the Astros were cheating to make sure no one was cheating against them. Good on MLB for doing the opposite of Goodell I guess.

I mean there was a picture of the guy standing next to the DQ ballpark cam holding out his cell and when asked he said he was an Astros employee so it doesn’t seem like he was trying to hide anything. Whatever I don’t care either way

Cora was on Astros staff.
He's calling them out because he knows from his days coaching there.
Petty BS if you ask me.

Pretty sure I read the Indians are the ones that alerted MLB. Still, the Red Sox aren't petty for turning someone in that is taking video or pictures inside their dugout.
