I saw a story not long ago that McConnell was keeping the Senate in session so they could keep the Democrats from taking time off to campaign. They said this strategy could hurt Cruz because his challenger is not in the Senate...

In the first debate, Beto ragged on Ted for taking too much time away from his Senate work to campaign. I guess Ted listened and Beto should recognize Ted’s responsiveness.

I think this is a big mistake for Cruz.
You know CNN is going to basically give Beto the script ahead of time, so he can polish his answers and basically give a one hour campaign stump speech.
I think Cruz is pretty far ahead, but this could turn the tide. If Cruz was on the stage, I don't care if CNN did slant it, Cruz would hold his own.
Big gamble for Cruz.

Nobody is changing their minds over these debates. Cruz owned him in the first one and holds the lead.
Beto declined a rescheduled 2nd debate to do a FB Live from his own house.
Kav didn’t turn out well for Dems and Beto needs the debate more than Cruz does. Not worth the risk.
