Myself included

I love KoQ, but no. It's not even the best Jerry Stiller sitcom.

it's good but not great. On the level of Friends, HIMYM, 2.5 men, etc. Level below Seinfeld, Raymond, Frasier, Big Bang, etc.

It's an all time great show. Super consistent quality throughout the entire series. Episodes can go so many ways. All of the characters matched up so well. One show about any of these combo's could make it a few seasons and this show had them all together.

Arthur/Spence. Doug/Arthur. Doug/Spence. Danny/Spence. Doug/Danny. Arthur/Holly. Spence/Danny/Holly.

Plus Kary was a way more likable bitchy wife than Debra.

King of Queens and Everybody Loves Raymond were two of my favorite sitcoms in the late 90s/early 00s to watch. Loved both of them.

Great show. One of my favorites. My favorite character was Arthur. But all of the characters had great chemistry together. Doug, Carrie, Holly, Deacon, Spence. I loved the episodes when Arthur and Spence would cook up schemes lol. When Arthur realized Holly was "walking" him like a dog was classic. The episode where Doug drove the forklift is my favorite. I fricking laughed so hard the first time I saw it I could barely breath.

I don’t know about one of my favorites of all time but I’ve definitely watched every episode multiple times and have no problem going to sleep with it playing in the background. It also helps that it plays several times a day on several different networks.

The Halloween episode where Doug kept giving Arthur mild heart attacks was the best.

I watch it every single day.

Arthur Spooner is the greatest TV character of all-time.

The way he goes from extremely firm to giving in so easily cracks me up.

I loved that show and everybody had great chemistry. I loved the episode when Danny and Spence went to their high school reunion and made a bet that they were going to get laid. A lesbian girl thought Spence was a lesbo and a gay dude liked Danny. They were so determined to win the bet all four of them were in the car driving back to their apartment lol. I was thinking Danny was going to win because the lesbian girl was going to see that Spence was a dude and he wouldn’t be able to hit it. Danny was about to get the gays.

It is very reminiscent of Kevin James' stand-up: overlooked, not super creative, dependably solid.

Arthur, Carrie, Doug, and Spence were great. Only one I wasn't a fan of was Doug's brother.

And Leah Remini good god

Weird show.

But funny.

Doug was always desperate because he worried about Carrie leaving him being out of his league.

So he lied about everything.

Carrie lied about everything because she was always trying to be upwardly mobile and have higher class friends - and didn't want Doug to feel bad that she wasn't exactly thrilled with movies, beer and Cheetos on the couch as the height of their social life.

He lied to keep her, she lied to conceal that she was always trending away.

The show created that weird dynamic that desperate Doug and looking for greener pastures Carrie - but then at the end of each show - she'd say she loved Doug and he didn't need to lie...she just wished he'd try a little harder to give her want she wanted.

As much as a dysfunctional show as Raymond. But that's the standard couples sitcom blueprint starting with Lucy.

He was succesful with a crazy wife. People forget, the show was predicated on Lucy being a loon...maybe not now, but especially back then when it aired. Not only was she demanding and wanting and doing things a traditional wife back then shouldn't be doing...but she wasn't manic and somewhat crazy for that period.

Debra wasn't crazy...she was just unhappy with the parents next door and not having a voice of her own in that family dynamic.

Carrie seemed - always - that she felt misgivings about settling and where her life had taken her and that as she got better jobs didn't want to be in Queens and was always trying to fix Doug into being more sophisticated.

Carrie wasn't a good person; Debra was just a nag in an intolerable situation.

One of my best steals is when I'm at a casino and anybody asks how I'm doing:

"I don't want to brag, but they just put my picture up ---

in the buffet."

Never watched it during its run, but I've seen reruns here and there and have actually enjoyed them a good bit. Makes me sad I missed its original run.
