I don't understand how people get offended because the student section is empty at halftime of every game that isn't against a top five team.

LSU is playing Ole Miss this weekend...are the students going to bail...absolutely...Ole Miss stinks.

The students must love watching us lose to Alabama...it's the only game they stay for.

This is cool as shite! If you haven’t seen it, look it up. Definitely gets the whole stadium fired up.

It sure was fun while it lasted...2000-2017...great times.

You have to go back a heck of a lot further than this recent era.

LSU fans of the 50's, 60's, and 70's were second to none. The LSU and Death Valley reputation for intimidation was established by these fans.

Today's fans and I am one, are a pale comparison to those who came before us.

Even the shitty early/mid 90s had better crowds than now.

Absolutely the truth. No disrespect intended to Fl 1997,but Ole Miss61and 65 Notre dame 75 (74?) were more continuously can't think and can't walk without losing balance loud. When each notre dame starter had to run up to the camera in front of the student section to be introduced the noise was so bad that they stumbled and had to look down to walk...couldn't get normal feedback from their feet to keep rtheir balance. That was with 68,000 capacity. Sports Illustrated did two articles about the noise in the stadium that year. I think Tommy Casanova was on the cover, but not sure of that.

we can all make sense of why people don't go, or stopped going to games.

What doesn't make any sense to me is the "leave early" crowd.
I think it is related to big screen a/c options, not very exciting opponents, too many tv time outs, lack luster offense, and unbearable traffic hassles if you wait to leave later.

They also didn’t have access to every game in high def at home or at their fingertips. They had to go to the stadium or listen on the radio.

Wow. GTFO with this shite. If that's the reason anyone leaves then they deserve to be ridiculed unmercifully. What a pathetic reason to leave early. Oh and go to a 12-step meeting

I am pretty unbiased on this topic. I go to games when people invite me and rarely leave early, but would never go out of my way to acquire tickets. Honestly, going to live sporting events just isn't that fun anymore. Games have changed, they have become a theatrical performance, or a corporate business. Opposing teams used to hate each other, now they are all best friends and get flagged for hitting too hard. Competing & winning used to mean more. I'm not hating on it, I guess it's good for society, but you can't disagree that this attitude has made sports different. We don't have anymore Bill Laimbeers or Deion Sanders. Everyone has to be a professional role model for children.

Also, it's way better to watch on TV now. You can actually understand everything that's going on.

Sneaking booze into the student section is incredibly easy. Stop acting like it's hard

Did I ever say it's hard? Did I say I never did it?

Geez man... I'm saying a lot of people don't want to take the risk of getting in trouble. You're like 40 man, times are different now is all I'm saying. It's not as easy as putting a flask in your pants and walking in. But all you internet folks just don't understand the level of drinking these people are doing.
