Stats are for LOSERS... so you are in the right category.

Of course yards alone don't equal success but a rational person cannot think our defense will be able to constantly counter 3 and outs by our offense. Look at the schedule and open your eyes to what's coming.

Yet it is perfectly rational to assume that opposing defenses can counter constant three and outs??

Like it or not, this is a typical LSU team that will rely on defense and establishing the run. They are not built for X box offense. If LSU wins, they’ll win playing LSU football which is ugly football that we’ve seen for years now. Question that needs to be answered is would you rather look good and lose or look ugly and win.

Lsu is literally last in the sec in total offense. Are you stupid enough to think no other sec team has played a highly ranked team too?

Texas A&M had a better offensive performance in the 2nd half against the #2 team in the country yesterday than Lsu did in an entire game against a 1aa team.

Or you could move into the 21st century and look good and win.

Averages are stupid as shite when you’ve got a whopping 2 games played.

I actually agree with this

I'd imagine the 1-12 order will change drastically by the end of the season

Although we may still be at the bottom

Not so fast my pessimistic, melting rantard... I am incapable of panicking after two games that resulted in WINS. I am incapable of melting over something has not happened. I am incapable of joining the NostrA-DUMBASSES who predict doom and gloom before it happens and calling it objectivity. These are the same people who predicted a loss to Miami.

I'll stick to wanting WINS. You stick to your stats. As the saying goes, "Stats are for losers."

I'm not melting, I'm just not capable of ignoring obvious problems that will cost us in the future. Our offense, long a problem, has no semblance of identity, no staple to built itself around, and no coherent scheme whose execution is slowly improving. Its not going to magically come together against a top defense.

Most of us want LSU to compete for the SEC west and see the lack of improvement in the one area that has held us back for years to be confirmation to expect more of the same this year. Despite being promised and told over and over that we'd hire the best, etc.

Its people that keep eating the same shite sandwhich each year and thinking its tastes good enough that I can't understand.

A&M had over 500 yards of total offense last night against the #2 ranked in the country. Brother. SLU ran 26 more plays than LSU and earned more first downs. LSU's offense is a shite show mainly because of the O-line and the schemes fool no one.

How many times have we seen this unfold again and again and again?? We play a bad game, win it and then perform at a different level the next week against better competition. Happens all the time.

We see one bad game and this place is up in arms about a 31-0 win bc it should have been 63-0. I'm on board with that but that doesn't mean that this team can't do a better job the following week.

I hear y'all and I want a better standard on offense as well but let's give this some time to develop. Les Miles did it for years. This is one game and that's the difference. The offense ran pretty darn efficiently for the first quarter and then in spurts in the second so we know it's possible.

Joe Burrow is the real deal and is a much better QB than Etling ever was period. Our OL needs some work as well as our WRs. They just don't get open in time. They don't seem to recognize when a blitz is coming and I would hope that our coaches have a different set of routes for when this occurs.

You can't run long developing routes when they bring everyone. It has to be short juke moves to get open under coverage but over the rush. Maybe they just didn't plan for it. I'm not sure but these guys do need to get it together. I'm just confident that they can unlike many.

Too bad we haven’t seen a dynasty built on stout defense and running the ball......

Alabama says to sit on your 21st century offense

this is the problem (not you personally, but the idea). We have strengths and weaknesses, neither lend itself to that:

Strengths: have you seen our WRs- wow. We have a QB who can read a defense, pretty quick release, better than average accuracy.

Weaknesses: OL and no premiere RB

I get it. You see that our offense needs improvement. You predict the worst-- "will cost us." I see our offense and being objectively optimistic, think-- "just a little improvement here and there, with our defense, we will be unstoppable."

I will soak up the victories and bask in the wins for as long as I can. And, if we lose, I will be sad. Until then, I will not join in the lot of people who want to be mired in misery, before a loss, nor will I let them steal my happiness with being 2-0.

Here's the issue -

you'd would happy with our offense being "just good enough". Little improvements. But unfortunately thats not something that can win you anything of value. If all you want is 9-4, then thats fine and I can see why you're happy.

Its completely possible to have an excellent defense and good offense.

In fact, if you look at the teams competing for national titles, most of them, even with outstanding defenses, usually have a game or two a year where they have to out score an opponent. Almost all of them have an offense that is light years beyond ours in scheme, execution, creating mis-matches and then using those mismatches. All things we haven't shown.

And 46 yards on hail Mary...

Easily could be under 300 per game...

Or 35 yards per qtr...

So wins don't count any more? It's yards per game that matter? I'll take wins over yards, every single game.
so if we beat Southeastern 3-0, but they outgained us 500-100, would you not be concerned about the far better teams on our future schedule?

Or would you be swimming in your own juices just because we won?
