Lots about this doesn't make sense.

Calling bullshite on this one. She leaves her apartment unlocked? She tried her key and it worked? Didn’t realize it was furnished completely different? Light switches are all in the same place in those apartments.

That is murder.

Why was this lady cop carrying a gun? You don’t need a gun for secretary work

Until more info comes out, it sounds like she entered a dark apartment late at night thinking it was her own (no idea how) and was surprised by an ‘intruder’ - at which point she immediately drew her weapon and fired. The fact that it was a single shot and fatal sounds like it was just terrible luck, IF the story doesn’t completely change.
So if I, a lowly citizen, "walk" into the wrong apartment and kill its occupant, I am sure the DA will believe my story that I legitimately feared for my life, and I can expect no charges or electric chairs.

We don't know what the DA believes yet in this case. In fact, we know almost nothing about what happened. Get worked up if she walks unscathed.

How do you walk into someone else's place and shoot them?
First you get shite-faced drunk then you start trying doors until you find one that's unlocked.

good grief that reporter is retarded.
"The officer is fine and dandy. she crawled across broken dreams all the way to her home next door. Nobody is hurt except for that poor miserable nobody who shouldn't have been in his home in the first place."

All the recidivists and sovereign citizen fedoras are in here bitching about the police but the reason you’re still alive today is because a police officer caught a criminal that would’ve otherwise killed you. We just want to make it home at the end of our shift and this lady was in her apartment complex. The criminal was probably high on drugs and resisted arrest. Badge lives matter

I already clarified my point. Read further.
FWIW I agree with you if there’s not more to the story here, but this shite always changes a million times before the final story is settled

With the Dallas police saying already that she was in the wrong apartment, I don’t imagine it gets better for her. They’ve already ceded the mora high ground.

I want to make a repository of el gaucho’s quotes of wisdom somewhere

'More to the story"? WTF
Guy is dead, shot in his own home, by a person who doesnt live there.
No police were called prior, so a warrant would have been absolutely necessary for ANY cop to enter the residence.
The only "more to the story" will be what drugs the cop was on to not know where she lives. That is, of course, until a bag of crack mysteriously turns up in his bedroom in plain sight, but just was overlooked previously.

Officer is doing fine.
I bet you she is not "doing fine"...
I also bet you she will be charged for her actions here...
I also be you she will face a civil lawsuit as well...
Now, none of these things will bring the victim back or excuse what the officer did but quit acting like some justice will not be served...

So... best case for her is she came “home”, noticed her front door was unlocked, entered to find an “intruder” and killed him with 1 shot. Bet she claims exhaustion.
Even in this best case scenario, she’s guilty of manslaughter.
