I'm very curious what the officer's justification was. Was she extremely tired and didn't realize that she was in the wrong apartment? Seems fishy to me but it's possible it was just a mistake. Either way, she needs to pay for that, assuming the victim wasn't trying to actually harm her (doesn't seem like it).

Well, if I knocked on a door and shot a kid carrying a Wii gun because I “feared for my life,” I’d be charged. The officer was not.
If I put on gloves and said on camera, I was going to “frick up” the local schizo, I’d be in jail. Those officers aren’t.
You’re fighting against BLM. I’m not BLM. If police can’t figure out the difference between activists pushing an agenda and legitimate complaints, they’ll continue to fall in esteem in society.

I didn’t think you were and I, and every other rational person, agree that police need to be charged with crimes when they commit them.
We’re told this in the abstract by police and their supporters. When the rubber hits the road, and John Crawford is laying dead in a Walmart with an air soft gun in his hands or Richard Black is killed in his own home mistaken for the intruder, we are told, “Good shoot.”

So they took the one picture when he was 14 and in a suit and ignored the 200 Facebook pictures where he’s pointing a gun at the camera

So if I kill someone I can simply say it was a mistake or I had no intent to harm them and I can go free?

That is murder. Was she arrested? Simply saying "I thought I was in my apartment" is not an excuse. She broke into someones home, trespassed, and then murdered them. Where are the charges?
Last I heard, they are still investigating. I will be shocked if she isn't charged with manslaughter.
This is an ENTIRELY different situation than , for example, if she was performing her job in good faith and entered the wrong apartment while serving a warrant. Something like that.

You should take a closer look at caselaw.

If the facts warrant that , then yes. The facts in this case don't appear to warrant that.

I’m pretty sure no one said that.

How did she gain access to his apartment?
She needs to go to prison, I don't care what color she is. That young man is dead for being at his own place and minding his own business.

So, turnabout being fair play, with around 60 officers being feloniously killed per year out of thousands and thousands of officers, it’s not a big problem either, I guess.

She is being charged with manslaughter.

Why would I want to take a closer look at case law?
I posted the definition of gross negligence.
