Could’ve happened to anyone.

A man was killed late Thursday when a Dallas police officer returning home from her shift entered the wrong apartment in her building and eventually opened fire, authorities said.

Officer is doing fine. She got home safely.

I'm confused, when is it ok to politicize deaths? I recall getting a wag of the finger when that illegal killed that teen a few weeks ago.

She’s not denoted as white. So probably.

If both are black, then its black on black crime and you're a racist for pointing it out.

It’s Poliboard. We politicize everything. You may be looking for a cooking forum.

Yeeesh, that’s unfortunate.

Until more info comes out, it sounds like she entered a dark apartment late at night thinking it was her own (no idea how) and was surprised by an ‘intruder’ - at which point she immediately drew her weapon and fired.

The fact that it was a single shot that happened to be fatal sounds like it was just terrible luck for the occupant (instead of a miss, graze, or hit to a limb, etc - cops are usually pretty bad shots), IF the story doesn’t completely change.

***Had to edit for clarification

How do you walk into someone else's place and shoot them? Am I reading OP correctly?

The ability to politicize something doesn't prevent progressives from calling you racist.

If she was white, then media rule #1 is they will make a point of saying that.

That is murder. Was she arrested? Simply saying "I thought I was in my apartment" is not an excuse. She broke into someones home, trespassed, and then murdered them. Where are the charges?

Gross incompetence and gross negligence. Either way she's unfit to be a cop and deserves a jail cell.

Her apartment building is very close to the police department. The shooting occurred around 10. I hope for her sake that she wasn’t impaired at the time.

I meant terrible luck that her single shot was fatal, not the rest of it.

Don’t know enough of the story yet to judge further

She was in uniform. This is dumb & she should fry. If she's too ignorant to find the right apartment or turn on lights and notice it's not hers, she's not responsible enough to handle a firearm.

Police are never there when you need them. Huge waste of tax dollars
