He was a drunk. He dated strippers. He received enough demerits to have been kicked out of the Academy (but wasn't, hmmm?). He cheated on his wife because she was disfigured in a car wreck, while ignoring what he himself looked like after his POW experience. He had an unsuccessful military career. That's why he left as a Captain to get into politics. His promotion days were over, because his dad retired while he was a POW.
But he felt 'obligated' to dossier Trump because he self-determine that TheDonalds past precluded him from being president

The rocket from the F-4 was believed to have been set off by a HERO incident, and McCain was an A-4 Skyhawk pilot, so he would not have been in the F-4 Phantom.

Ugh. You aren’t clever and you aren’t special. We go through about 2 posters just like you every month. Young, uneducated, and ignorant. Come in here posting non stop (mostly flames, and trite cliches), then you burn out and go back to the Xbox. I just hope your rotation goes fast. Not going to sugar coat anything...McCain barely made out of Annapolis, probably should've never been there, there is some doubt that he never should have been flying attack aircraft, but unless you've been in the military, certain people are treated differently than others. Nepotism can be a fatal disease in the Military. When you're the Grandson of a legend, and your father is a 4 star, you're treated very, very differently than others.
Just too add. A Joe Blow in Primary might, a big might, get away with an accident.
A guy flying to see his gf, and dumping a bird on the beach...you're going to a review board, and more than likely gone.
A guy hot dogging it over Spain would likely have been sent to an Article 92 hearing.
