If I were you, check out what 2K is doing with MyLeague.

They’re adding draft classes going back to 1976... if you’re a MyLeague fan this year’s 2k is a must. Also they’re adding varying degrees of difficulty to MyGM. It won’t be as scripted as last year’s addition which was garbage.

I'll check it out. Thanks man.

I know this is going to sound insane, but NBA Live looks very enticing this year. They have made a huge jump and the game actually looks like it will be fun to play. However, they made a dumb decision by pricing it at $60.00 instead of $40.00 or even $20.00 to potentially convert some disgruntled 2k buyers.

The screen game is so bad in this game. The RB just gets lost in his blockers before you throw and you get sacked 80% of the time.

Can linebackers still jump 15' in the air to pick off a pass to a receiver that 20 yards downfield from them? If so, I'll just keep my $60.

The things that turned me off from this game and franchise a year ago are still prevelant in this one. I’ll play with friends in a franchise or something but my days of taking this seriously and competitively are over.

It’s allll about Ultimate Team. That’s where idiots spend hundreds and hundreds of dollars to keep funding EA’s bullshite. Hell I bet some Youtubers spend thousands of dollars on packs. They keep adding in new game engines that suck and worry about a career mode like 2K has but can’t even replicate it. They’re more worried about how good the grass looks or how real the fans look, not the fact that LBs can sit in a spy at the LOS and pick off a pass aimed 20 yards downfield.

Not to mention you never know when you’re going to get screwed over on the random roulet of animations. One game, I threw a pass to Cameron Meredith in the slot and Tyrann Matthieu jumped 15 feet off the ground to pick it off. The very next series, I throw the same pass and Mathieu just watches it sail over his head for a 25-yard pickup. The game is inconsistent and unpredictable at a very core level. This makes it realistic because the NFL is also unpredictable. It also makes the casual player better. But it does not benefit long time fans of the franchise and people how used to put long hours into the game to be good. Hell NCAA used to change the plays up at least every other year. I’ve seen the same playbooks and plays for the last five years.

i love football video games but i literally refuse to buy another because the basic code is so broken they cant fix it.

they can fix specific parts but the game is all patchwork and bandaids

I was coming here to say no. But I just had a corner back literally teleport to intercept a ball on what was turning out to be a game winning drive for me. And then in the next game, a linebacker jumped (not exaggerating) at least 5 feet up in the air while he was running backwards to swat a ball to the safety for an interception.

Not to mention the offensive line in this game is god awful. I made a 99 overall HB just for shits and giggles. And after 20 carries, his longest was 5 yards. And I get gang tackled in the backfield on about 70% of my runs.
Granted, I’m playing on All-Madden simulation... it’s just not enjoyable.
I’ll try out All-Pro Competitive and see how that goes.

Running the ball used to be enjoyable but now that’s not even fun. The WRs and RBs don’t feel any faster or shiftier to use than a Linebacker. And while certain LBs should be fast, they should have a different feel to control than skill players. Running the ball in the open field feels like I’m running with a new born baby deer, not Todd Gurley

This thread is all full of truth but this made me lol

It got to a point for me where I'd see a LB in spy and I'd just throw it away or take a sack. Cause I know that LB had his moon shoes on.

I haven't played Madden in years. Do you unlock packs to unlock players? Like HOF type players? And if so, do they let you play with unlocked players online vs other players who may not have unlocked players?

Yes, it's the very epitome of pay to play. No one person can grind enough hours in order to earn enough coins to buy enough packs or players to keep up with someone who spends hundreds of dollars to buy players

You can casually play MUT if you are semi active in the auction house (AH). The thing about being someone who doesn’t spend money on packs though is that when you get good players, sell them right away.

I played last year while spending money here and there but eventually it does get old. If you can get a month out of it, good for you. You CAN grind your way to a nice team, but I’m not joking about the grind. MUT is kinda soulless. They have a salary cap mode where you’re given X amount of points to spend on your team. But you can only use cards you earned

What Madden was your last one? M18 curves some of this by penalizing players for ‘ballhawking’ meaning of you hold triangle and th Ball is thrown anywhere near your player, he can pick it. They went back to a timing based system last year.
