re: Is there a worse place in this country than Newark NJ?

I’d put every major city in New England as nicer than BR, Nola, Jackson, and Mobile. The suburbs aren’t even a contest.
The only town in New England that’s run down enough to compare to LA cities is Waterbury, CT.

I’ve spent a combined 3-4 months there. From Paramus to Morristown to Edison to cherry hill to toms river to Newark. The entire state. Taking all things into account, including affordability, people, cleanliness, crime, and amenities, New Jersey is the worst place I have ever been and it’s really not even close.
I believe Jackson Mississippi and Baton Rouge are far and away better places than anything in New Jersey maybe outside of Hoboken.
ETA: and I would commit suicide before I ever lived in Baton Rouge again.

No way you've been to Newark if you think Lee County is worse than that place

Branch further into New Jersey and you’ll see more. Asbury Park looks like something from Russia from Sept-May.

Morristown is ok. Millie's meatballs, pizza and the fresh mozzarella makes up for anything negative lol

quote:i do a bunch of work there, and you see the worst of the worst by the airport. next time you are there uber to the North Ironbound area. IT is the Portuguese area. hell you get out of Newwork toward the Denville, Chatham Area you have some pretty country. The locals there say that they dont want tourists to see that so they can keep their quiet area cheap, yet an hour from NYC.
The Gf and I got stuck there Sunday night after our flight got cancelled.
That place is worse than the worst shithole in Louisiana or even Jackson MS.

Suburban NJ is extremely nice. Clearly you haven’t seen much of it

There is nothing cheap about Chatham and the other suburbs around there

Be lucky you’re not in Camden. Still Newark is horrible. Get to Maplewood ASAP.

Unless you're standing on Augusta National, Augusta is trashy as hell.
