Why a hippopotamus? Those animals are rapidly dying out. And nothing about being a hippotamus seems fun.

I'd rather be an elephant if I was a humongous African animal.

I might like being an elephant if it weren't for the fact that they're rapidly becoming extinct. In the past, elephants were found basically everywhere in Africa. Elephants must have even been in North Africa thousands of years ago since Hannibal Barca used them to cross the Alps. Unless Carthage imported the elephants from sub-Saharan Africa.

Nowadays elephants are only found in a few small patches in Africa. Hunting has greatly reduced their numbers.
