Anyone ever eat down there? Had it today for lunch off of a recommendation. Terrific food.

Got the small meatball sub (two sandwiches) and the potato salad with red gravy on top (by recommendation) it was terrific.

Will return

I've been eating food by Rocky & Carlo long before there was ever a Rocky & Carlo's. They were brought over from Italy by a guy named Angelo who had a business just like theirs, also on St. Bernard Hwy., just a bit farther down if I recall correctly.

They worked for Angelo for a few years and then split off and opened their own business, putting Angelo out of business eventually.

Love it.

Totally worth the drive.

The brucioloni with their max&cheese (Wednesday’s only) is one of my favorite meals from any restaurant.

was afraid katrina might have washed all of the flavor out of that place.

do the fat women in the kitchen still carry the french bread under their arms? That was always inviting.

Assuming Rocky isn't still around? Who collects the money these days?

Overrated. Tony’s was so much better. Damn, I miss that place.

Next time you go make sure to notice that they NEVER answer the phone and it just rings off the hook the entire time

Also, the meal MUST be eaten with a red cream soda, it is just right. The veal cutlets and mac n chese with gravy all ova is the BOMB

Man good to see some parish folks in here.

I was always a veal and Mac guy with red sauce all over.
I met Will Clark at Rocky’s in the early 90s.

If at Tony’s I would always get roast beef there.

They had decent lasagna in the 1990s.

First of all, it's not a meatball sub, it's a meatball po-boy, and yes, it is so big they cut it in two.

But you're right, the food is terrific and the wife and I try to get down there at least once a month or so.
