Put in my 6 miles Tuesday at a 9:15 pace. First time I've ever had to take a break for water in my 6 mile training runs. About mile 4 decided it was in my best interest to take an untimed water break. Brutally hot and humid here in Alabama. The hills around here certainly don't help.

How's that coach thing going, Burt?

Time will tell I guess. Dude has mellowed out so it's better. I think that he figured out that I DGAF, so that helps. Not sure I like that my marathon tempo paces are coming from a vdot 5k.

All in all, I still think it was too soon to get a coach but at the same time, I would have probably run the same race times this year regardless of what training I was doing previously. I mean if you run a lot, and you run fast, you will get better at running a lot, faster.

5+ mi this morning at 4:30am. Hot and humid even then. That run made up for yesterday’s 1.75 mi jaunt that had to end abruptly when both kids woke up from the shortest naps known to mankind...

I don’t know where you are, but today was fantastic in north LA.

Nice breeze, mid 80s with low humidity.

Probably last day like it till late September.

Northshore. Was 81 degrees with 91% humidity. Heat index of 89 for a run 2 minutes after I roll out of bed is killer

ETA: this morning’s 63F/100% 5 miler was much more enjoyable!

Maybe, I think probably too many err on the side of caution. A lot of people over diagnose themselves with an injury when it's just tightness or normal soreness. "I feel a little funny, time to take a week off".

I did a build, I ran a lot, I ran faster. I now run fast.

But I get ya.

Had a lot of rain that the TS kicked up, so the weather has been “good” (low 70s w/low 90s humidity vs. high 70s high 90s)

Hope it has been cooler than usual elsewhere too

More than me, bud!

16 miles at 11:20 pace this morning. That put me at 34 miles for the week. I’ve read it’s not good have your long run make up that much of your weekly mileage, but I’m having a hard time finding time during the week to run.

10 mins of 10 speed 10 incline sprints on the treadmill yesterday

Run as far as I could and then recover to below 130 HR then go again

First time I’ve done that since the lockdown was lifted

Very humbling

Was going to get my six miles this morning but slamming a whole pizza for dinner and canes for lunch wasn’t a good idea.

By the time I got it all out my system it’s to hot LOL

Longest run ever for me today, 15 miles. I didn’t push anything and finished at a 10 min pace. Never got fatigued and felt great at the end. I even worked a couple of sprints into the run. Need to get around to speed work and get faster.
