2 easy miles with 12 strides in the middle of it.

What are your thoughts on strides? Any real benefit to them at this point in my training?

There's a parking lot about a mile from my house where I'll get some in. About 50 yards of running space.

I think there’s benefit to them.

Lost 6 pounds over my 8 mile run this morning. FML.

Just came across this race yesterday. 130+ mile race from BR to NOLA in March 2021. Run solo or as part of a team. Looks pretty cool.

Hour long recovery run this morning

Much needed, I felt beat up as shite this week. Definitely bc this week was a low carb week on my cut.

After about two miles worked out the soreness

I did my (now) normal Sunday long run. I am starting to see my heart rate go down for the same pace, so that’s a positive. I have been doing them regularly for about six weeks.

Hopefully this translates into faster races when those start back up again.

years back it was called Rouge Orleans but the race director wasn't able to get permits any more. not sure if they already have them or still need to acquire. Its flat and fully exposed. My GF and some others did this two years ago as a fatass (self support no official aid stations) run the day after thanksgiving took her 30 hrs. I ran the first 40 as a training run. Two other friends ran this back in February and finished in 24-25 hours. they should be able to get a good turn out by offering the team option and popularity of Higgins. Sign up and go for it solo or with a group. its set up calendar wise to hit stride after solid winter training

I guarantee it, especially if you optimally build on that improved aerobic fitness.

Got my 6 miles in today after my 12 yesterday. Nice slow, easy run. 9:55 with little elevation. Got faster each mile. I wish I could adequately describe the heat and humidity. Awful.

Work from home day due to Cristobal, so I got in a leisurely 10k during the time I would have been commuting. My running really misses the 100% remote work schedule I had during corona.

Some of you probably know the Kelly Agnew story, but there's a new piece about it in SI.

The Porta-Potty Cheat

I always got a weird vibe from Kelly both times I met him when I was a co-race director. But Jo couldn't have been nicer.

4.5 miles this morning. Some good hills and I didn't walk once.

Getting there. Patience is my biggest test.

Enjoyed reading that. The ultra running scene is so laid back and chill compared to the roads. Most of the time no one cares how you did results wise after a race. Most people just want to share a beer. Just a dumb sport to cheat in.

Went down the Agnew rabbit hole last time you posted something about him. Fascinating stuff.
