Are you training for something or just enjoy speed work?
I'm currently training for a 5K. I like to do hill repeats during the early part of my training to build strength. The hill sprints are something I do a little all of the time just to keep everything firing. Neither of these things are really speed work. I fully recover between reps for these workouts. I bring in tempo runs and track intervals during the second phase of my training and these become more specific to my goal race as I transition to the last phase.

For anyone interested, here is a really good video on hill sprints
There are several videos on this topic out there, but this one was particularly good IMO.

Bout all I've got, other than a park in BR that's got some hills, but still aren't that steep/long. Maybe take me about 5-8 seconds to sprint up. We have a lake in our neighborhood with an embankment, may start working those in.
How do you structure the repeats? Would an overpass work for these?

Put them towards the end of a run. Just sprint 8-12 seconds up the hill as fast as you can while maintaining good form and fully recover before the next one. If you can't maintain good form, then you are running too hard or not taking enough time to recover. When you first start doing these it's good to go at 90-95% instead of all out until you get the knack of it. It's really important to recover completely between reps. Walking down the hill or jogging very slowly for up to 2 minutes is perfectly fine if that is what it takes to completely recover. Make sure to watch the video I linked. He does a great job of explaining what to focus on.

Possibly. The key is to find a hill that is steep enough to challenge you but not make your form fall completely apart. That could even be a grassy hill in a park. In fact, a grassy hill is probably better if it is mowed regularly. I have done hill repeats barefoot on grassy hills before. In small doses, doing that can really improve your form and strengthen the feet and ankles.

I remember rolling down the grassy hills in front of the capitol buildings (new and old) in BR as a kid. I haven't been there in a long time, but maybe those would work.
It isn't something you could probably do regularly, but you might also try the trails in Tunica Hills. That might be a good spot for hill repeats.

Happy Global Running Day. Put in 3 and called it a day. Legs are feeling tired.
Stay safe out there.

Similarly, I got in a 4-mile recovery run at sunrise. I kept it really slow so as to get the most of the rest of my week.

Replaced two of my running days with a cycle class now that the gym is open. My weekly running mileage is down now, but when I do run I feel a ton better.

I put in a solid 7 miles today after a fast 3 miles yesterday. I've also been trying out this Pace Pro setting with some success, though I need to remember to stay on the courses I set up. I'm also down 10 lbs over five weeks and I've definitely noticed the difference in my running.

5 meh miles this morning. First run since Saturday. Kids’ sleep schedules are making my sleep and run schedules fall apart. Got about 4 hours in, and I’m running on fumes. Gonna take tomorrow off and hope to get in some runs Fri, Sat, and Sun.

6 miles yesterday morning. Car overheated on the way to work. Spent the rest of the day replacing a deteriorated water outlet. It was storming this morning, so I had to postpone my 6 mile run. Heat index of 100 in the forecast for this evening, so running 6 miles after work is out of the question. It looks like I will need to either run 9-milers tomorrow and Sunday or a two-a-day on Sunday to get my miles in the for the week. A two-a-day would mean 4-5 miles on the treadmill tomorrow or Sunday afternoon, so I leaning towards two 9-mile morning runs this weekend.

Regular 6 miles yesterday. Hot AF and 700+ of elevation change, 10min/miles. Last mile was the fastest and flattest at 8:45.
Wife and I are making Thursday a regular deal. I leave the house running and she meets me at a local restaurant for dinner and beers. It makes the run easier to get through knowing I have dinner and icy cold beer waiting for me when I'm done.

On vacation in Orange Beach for the next week. Thinking I’m going to take it easy, sleep in, and run when I can. Might use this as a week to just relax and let the body rest....... and drink a lot.

I completed my 12 mile run today at an 8:29 pace. Initially I planned for an 8:35 pace but abandoned that after mile two clocked in at 8:10. It's warming up around here but not close to Louisiana heat & humidity.
Something I've noticed about my nutrition and following long runs is that I feel much better and less fatigued after eating complex carbs the night before the run. Last night was minimal carbs (zucchinis boats with sausage and cheese) and my last couple of miles were about 30 seconds/mile slower than my overall pace even with consuming a gel almost 7 miles in. The times I've eaten something like pasta or mini Naan pizzas I felt better and less gassed afterwards.

If I don’t eat at least a couple of servings of whole wheat bread or other whole grains a day it really throws me off. I notice a difference in my energy, focus, and digestion.
Got 9 and a half miles in this morning before the heat arrived. Now, I just have weight training and a little yard work left before I soak in the pool. Stay safe everyone.

Got 18 in earlier with constant light rain
Ended up soaked, but at least I wasnt forced to the treadmill with the forecasted thunderstorms that didn’t show. Did run it completely inside of my neighborhood which was a little miserable
