re: This avalanche of good news for LSU football bodes well for the LSU program

Bottom line Canada was not a fit. He did not like Louisiana, LSU, the culture or the HC. New hires flop. It happens in the bidness world. What is needed is to correct the mistake and make darn sure the next hire works. It just better....

If you think LSU being on their second OC before we start our second season is good news or helpful to our offense, you are operating on a few cards short of a full deck.
If you think Canada was the right guy as OC and we should have kept him, then you're not the sharpest knife in the drawer, and certainly not the brightest bulb on the Christmas light string. Is that how you are supposed to do this? Don't be a name-calling dick.

I definitely agree that a little tact goes a long way in these discussions. There's really no need for damn near every thread to end up in a middle school name calling hissy fit. In the end, it's just an overall discussion about football philosophy.

Only thing make this thread better would be if tiger Ree posted it.
The butt hurt he gives the miserables on here is a big reason why I frequent this site.

Look another happier person in life who is so not miserable he came to this thread to post negativity about people he disagrees with.
I envy your life

If that gets your panties in a wad, you probably shouldnt be on the rant.
O thought he was the right guy and at one time called him a genius. Of course O said he wouldn't mettle with the offense and within five games he was. So, was the problem the OC or a head coach sticking his none where he said he wouldn't. Canada didn't seem to have any problem finding another team willing to think he was the right guy. How long did it take E to find the same thing?
We were the sixth most talented team in the nation, we played the weakest SOS in twenty years, and finish with a worse record than we had in 2015.
Tell me how great things are for LSU football about mid-October.

I will be able to tell you how good LSU is 3 weeks into their schedule,it will be obvious.

I certainly didn't point out your ignorance when you said
I will gladly address your most recent comment, which is telling me all O's failings in 2017. Guess what? I agree. Although our 2017 overall record was worse than 2015-- our SEC record was better in 2017 than it was in 2015.
The original post which you criticized, said nothing about that. It dealt with the fact there were some positives getting rid of Canada. Not all positive and not all negative. It's very rarely an all or nothing proposition. Will we be better offensively this year? We will know very shortly.

At lease I can spell nice which is more than we can say for you.

I dont think his performance last year in any way warranted his firing. Obviously him and O didn't mix, so it was best to not continue down that road. I wish O had some semblance of foresight or attention to detail so we wouldn't be in that scenario to begin with, but here we are. 3 offensive systems in 3 years.
I do find it amusing that many of the same people screaming about giving O a chance refuse to extend the same courtesy to Canada, labeling him a failure after 1 year of implementing a brand new system while also dealing with a transitional offensive line, a banged-up star RB, physically limited starting QB and meddling head coach. But he's also not from Lafourche Parish, so, frick him.

Like you, I don't think the on-field performance warranted being fired. Did it set the world on fire? No. But there were some positives, like improved QB play. Because he was fired, it leads me to believe the rift between him and O was much uglier than we will ever know.

I'd hardly call it an "avalanche."
The program enjoyed more than a few recruiting wins in back-to-back succession. It was nice. And encouraging.

then you must not pay attention or frequent here.
O fielded questions about Canadas employment the minute the aTm game ended.
There were multiple rumors of Canada being fired for cause so as to not get any of his buyout money.
We may not know specifics, but it doesnt take being Ross Dellenger to figure out the two men were never going to be able to work together again.
