"To-may-to" "to-mot-o". It's still good.

Although it also shows how far the bar has been lowered.

I believe an argument could be made that it raises the bar-- e.g. An avalanche of good news is expected to produce an avalanche of results.

Thanks for pointing out what they're ignorant to, "IT RAISES THE Bar", no excuses!

So, you think the best QB on the OSU roster transferred to LSU?

Yessssss! I actually do! You can call me silly if Burrow fails to live up to my high expectations or you can call me "Daddy" if they come true.

I admire the positive view, but I think you're letting your enthusiasm cloud your judgement on this one.

Its unfortunate to fire someone, but it was a good move in my opinion. Gimmicky offense worked in the open field sometimes, but not in the red zone.

Only thing make this thread better would be if tiger Ree posted it.

The butt hurt he gives the miserables on here is a big reason why I frequent this site.

that made me laugh....I think I come to this site for the drama, also. I must be sick in the head.

Even though I'd prefer to see a more calm debate

“ our SEC record was better in 2017”

Have we as LSU fans really resorted to patting a coach on the back because he came in 3rd in the West and 4th in the SEC in a year that saw the SEC being the weekest it has been in 20 years?

Where have the shouts gone bout a 10 win season not being acceptable or any coach can win 10 games at LSU?

It’s really remarkable how the bar has been lowered for LSU football. 35 games, at the end of 2018, since a coach was fired a 10 win season is now to be seen as some sort of achievement.

Freaking amazing

Yep I remember the rant saying under miles that any idiot can win 10 games at LSU. Now 9 wins with loses to Troy and a 30 pt beating by state are good years

Then why did Canada take less money than he was owed so he would NOT "be fired". Canada has an agent(s) that would get a cut of the $1.7 million Canada gladly forfeited. You think they would fight it or hire a lawyer in order to get 10% of 1.7 million.

From Advocate article:
"The coach will be paid $1.7 million of the $3.4 million left on his contract. "

"Matt Canada’s settlement with LSU could be voided if the former offensive coordinator “interferes” in the football program’s activities or if he “discourages” players or staff in the transition to a new coordinator.

He also cannot “interfere” with LSU prospects, some of whom he once recruited."

I have heard rumors that it was Canada or Aranda and that is why Aranda was flirting with A&M.

And the Valley Shook article:
"Basically, once the work became serious, Canada became a problem for virtually everybody in the LSU Ops Building to work with. Dave Aranda, in particular, very much wanted him gone. It wasn’t about philosophy or jet sweeps or motions so much as it was just a basic working relationship and trust. And while I’m not privy to any specific incidents, there was enough chronicled that LSU threatened to fire Canada for cause in order to reduce the buyout owed to him (with enough of a case that Canada would have likely had to sue to fight it, which he didn’t want to do)."

3rd in the SEC West? Behind the team that won the SEC West and the team that won the national championship.

4th in the SEC? Behind the team that won the national championship. The OTHER team that played in the national championship game. AND the SEC West champ who also beat the team that won the national championship.

Who cares that’s still third place. You can polish a turd and it’s still a turd.

That was the first bad hire in the history of mankind.

A recommendation from Aranda should be enough but apparently not.
