There isn't anything healthy about goldrush. 100% negative, 24/7, for many months. In fact, he and justice run a close race for most consistent/continuous negativity over a course of several months.

Some people are reasonable, but "glass half-empty" guys. Some are reasonable, but "glass half-full" guys. There are also crazy/irrational/whack jobs on both sides. I try to ignore the last category. You can't debate them. They bring you down to their level and beat you with experience.

Lol. I agree. That's why I posted the tenures. However, you will note that was his first job.

Yea I noticed that. I’ve never even looked that deep into his past. Thanks for the post

What words are those?

It's a lazy assumption to say Canada didn't stay anywhere long, therefore he's an a-hole who can't get along with anybody.

Where did I say that?

Also, you asked for a link and then provided a verified report of him not getting along at Winsconsin. Then you noted he was fired before. No big deal that he was fired before-- it happens in that profession. However the reports of not getting along are more significant. Also-- not all times that a coach moves along are voluntary. I don't know details of Canada, but Les was a master of giving a coach an out to make it look voluntary, when it really was not. I thought that was all class, and another reason I was a huge Miles' fan.

I didn't mean for it to come off like I was singling you out for that narrative. I was just saying, it's been oft repeated on this board and isn't necessarily so.

You did say most, if not all, his former bosses took the easy way out with Canada, which is false. He left Indiana and Wisconsin due to head coaching changes. He left NIU and Pitt for better jobs.

I agree, Les was class in how he handled terminations, but a similar situation hasn't presented itself in Canada's case.

Here you go. If you have a link for incidents at other schools, I'd like to read them.

quote:

Prior to the Big Ten Conference title game against Nebraska, Canada went in to talk to former UW coach Bret Bielema and at long last put his foot down. Sink or swim, it was time for Canada to do things his way.

Numerous UW sources said Canada's decision to stand up to Bielema was a significant factor in the offensive outburst that followed. The Badgers amassed 640 yards, including 539 on the ground, in the 70-31 victory over Nebraska on Dec. 1, sending UW to the Rose Bowl where it will face Stanford on Tuesday.

Better start checking under your bed for in-shape 50 year old big balls before you goto bed justice. A restraining order may be on the horizon as well.

If all is true— he didn’t get along at N.C. State, Winsconsin and LSU. So, 1/3 of places he was OC. I don’t know if that is high or normal number.

Doeren and Canada did not get along at N.C. State
Although no details given.

A lot of the same stuff was done with Ed when he was at ole miss. He recruited a hot shot transfer qb, got better recruits than ole miss was used to, hired some good coaches, then sucked in the field. Here’s to changing that.

It's tough to glean much from an anonymous source saying there were "disagreements" in 2013.

Canada still got a new deal and lasted two more seasons at NC State, so was it just the usual squabbles between coaches? Doeren's seat was also getting warm after 2015.

I'm not saying Canada is a saint, but from what we know, I don't see the red flags that should've precluded Orgeron from hiring him.

I like how you use all these alters to reply to yourself. How many different screen names do you post under? Do you talk to yourself often?

I don't think anyone on here doubts Cregg's ability because people know that for the first time in a long time LSU has a "real" OLine coach. That's why I was sorry Green didn't get the message in his head that this man is a real OLine coach that can help you tremendously in getting to the NFL. He chose A&M instead, and those are the breaks, but as far as the rest of the news. I hope they finish strong in this class and from the looks of it they can with Emery, Cain, Sopsher, Palmer and others still out there. But it will mean nothing if this season is another disappointing season!

Firing Canada is viewed as good news by some

If you think LSU being on their second OC before we start our second season is good news or helpful to our offense, you are operating on a few cards short of a full deck.

O fricked up his first big offense hire. We don't know how his second hire will work out, but most of us are willing to admit its big fricking gamble.

Honestly, I don't feel that way now, I did when it first happened, but after thinking about it for awhile I think they may have made the correct move. I seem to remember Canada saying that LSU didn't have the right type of WR's to run a wide open type of passing attack and I was like wtf is he talking about because they had a shite load of big talented WR's. I also became increasingly frustrated with his offensive scheme of motion and lots of movement, but really running the same shite over and over off of all that movement. People have always wanted to see LSU open up the passing lanes with a more wide open passing attack using all of the talented WR's that they keep bringing in even though they suck as a school passing the football. But if Ensminger is true to his words then you'll finally see that and for the first time people won't sit through boring, one dimensional offensive football that could be so much more with the talent that they have at the receiver positions.
