I know we got another thread going right now but there’s a lot of cats in there that haven’t seen it yet so I’m firing up a spoiler thread.

I liked Jurassic World, it was stupid but had some really cool scenes. I went into this with my brain turned off just wanting to watch dinos.

But this didn’t do it for me, I didn’t like it. The action scenes were lame, the Indoraptor just didn’t seem as cool as the Indominus Rex. The volcano scene was just stupid. Why would a carnivore stop running from an erupting volcano to chase some humans around. Also, I thought the gyro spheres could handle a .50 cal? Then Owen shoots a hole in the glass while underwater. My brain was turned off but for some reason that bothered me lol

Owen didn’t come off as the badass he was in the first one either but they didn’t actually give him much to work with. The side characters were god awful, especially the nerd. Idk where they’re going next, I know Pratt and BDH have signed on for a third, but it just doesn’t work for me having Dinos in suburbia. The whole mansion/auction set piece in the third act sucked IMO. And they need to go back to real dinosaurs, enough of the hybrids.

BDH thicc tho

I haven't seen this yet, but don't they destroy the entire island? Seems kind of sad considering all the plot moments that have happened there.

Yep a volcano demolished the place, but was it The Lost World or JP3 that established multiple islands? Either way they’re setting it up for the next one to take place in the US I think. Dinos vs humans in suburbia

isla sorna was the 2nd island that held the breeding stock for isla nubar (the park island).
it was the setting for JP2 and 3 but evidently has been retconned out of JW

What bugged me was how they spent the whole first half debating whether these animals should be saved and the moral dilemma that was created in bringing back an extinct creature

Yet after bringing BDH full circle in her character development, her finally seeing Pratt’s argument and deciding to put these animals out of their misery, the little count sac kid makes an emotional decision and ruins everything they built up.

The way they ended it, gave off a planet of the apes vibe like Dino’s gonna take back the world - all because of a kid and muh feelings.

Dino’s stacked. Humans fricked

Yep it took away everything between what we saw and Malcom was saying. The volcano was the first thing, nature was trying to wipe them out. Then the gas was the 2nd thing, ok maybe these animals are supposed to be extinct that’s twice now and BDH finally realized it. Only for the kid to take it all away just because she was a clone too. fricking stupid. The more I sit on it the more I hate it, and I’ve loved the JP franchise my whole life

What happened to site B? The island from the second and third movies?

Wouldn't they have dinosaurs there too?

Bumping so that we don’t have a fourth thread started for this movie.

Island that got destroyed was Islam Sorna the one from the first one. Nublar was the second one was the island they were talking about placing them. The reason why Owen was against releasing them from the mansion was because they were never meant to be roaming around the US and interacting with humans.

Which I think sets up a pretty interesting idea for a sequel with how humans adjust to living with dinosaurs and how it would frick with the natural order

I can't believe I'm typing this, but rotten tomatoes nailed their synopsis. this lacked thrilling moments more than any Jurrasic movie by a mile. I had a difficult time keeping my eyes open by the auction

The kid releasing the dinosaurs was telegraphed pretty hard. I expected it and understood it.

The kid grew up in a house where cloning and the love and respect for dinosaurs was discussed daily. Once she discovered who she was, there was too much foreshadowing for there to be any result other than for her to release the dinosaurs.

I went in with low expectations, and surprisingly enjoyed it. I didn't expect to be blown away but I liked the movie.

I came in with high expectations, because I don’t read critics reviews, nor could I care any less about them, so just based off of the first Jurassic World movie, I was hopeful. I was let down big-time. This movie was not that good

I expected to see a lot of dinosaurs.

I saw a lot of dinosaurs.

I think this is the first JP with a crime fighting action hero. Pratt went all Batman on that security force.

I enjoyed it. A lot. And my kids enjoyed it. It was a very good second installment of a trilogy and I enjoyed the subtle call backs to the Original.

I had one medium sized issue with the plot but it wasn’t big enough to distract from the rest of it.

Just got out. I would say my theatre was 90% full and that was 2 showings 30 minutes apart.
