Bought some Saturday that was bottled 6/12. It was great, I just wish it was more consistent.

beer is fattening. Too many bullshite carbs and calories to get drunk enough to feel right.

A brewery is a business, making creative small batch beers is great, doesnt pay the bills though.

Create enough buzz and it can. Treehouse doesn't even have to rely on distributors to get their beers out the door. People line up for hours once or twice a week, and they promptly sell out.
That's not a model every brewery can sustain, but it's possible in the right environment if the beer is really exceptional.

Why not both though. I had hoped that when they outsourced the brewing and distribution of envie, canebrake and south coast we would be getting more small batches. It's clear though that is not in their interest.

Someone head to Corporate and try their Ghost.
Green onion / garlic. Bottles are much different. Anyone else have it on tap around town?

Whats funny? it is true. I have put a bloom down and my down and have multiple people taste.
quote:and you are in fact wrong on this. as a later posts stats 3-5 weeks that is still a young beer. Neipas need a week or 2 to condition out before they hit their peak taste then it fads out after a week or 2 after that. You saying that alone says to me you dont know about anything you are talking about.
Thats the thing with this style of beer, it is best to drink young.
This has NEVER been the case with ghost.

Just a tad more people within a few hours of treehouse than paraish. Population density makes a huge difference.

Hahahahahahaha.
Its so funny when people praise their homebrew as amazing knowing no one here will drink it.
Ive been drinking ghost since batch one and its ALWAYS been better about a month out.
Stick to your books, ill stick to my tastes buds and what everyone else ive been drinking with for 10 plus years tell me.
Cant wait for your brewery to open so i can try all these amazing beers you brew.

I'll drink it. And many people share their homebrews with friends, family, and random TD members. I appreciate your chuckle on the matter, but homebrew can be every bit as good, if not better, than commercial beer.

I don't know about always. I too have enjoyed it since the beginning. Pre-new yeast, their beer was hitting it's stride on release date.

So you haven't had his beer but know for a FACT, that ghost is better? Arguing a beer is better is pretty ignorant because taste is subjective. Yes there are obvious cases, but usually it's personal preference. I'd say a person's homebrew tastes better to them, if done right, because they put in the effort to make it, and the payoff is greater. Their is success in struggle. Waddling out to the grocery store to grab a 4 pack isn't much of a struggle.

What condescending jackass...
and this is where the Parish thread goes off the rails...

but yes people dont understand for a really goood home brewer it is VERY easy to make better beer than commercial. that doesnt mean they can make better beer on that scale. Im sure all the people that have been talking neipas for the past 3-4 years in our brewing thread have made plenty better than ghost. That also doesnt me I or we hatre on ghost. it is one of the beers that got me wanting to brew this style. also i get downvoted for this but ghost today is way different that OG ghost beers.
quote:i agree but like i said when these high dry hopped beers i to have a problem with an astringency taste. so i let it sit in a keg for a week before i taste.
Pre-new yeast, their beer was hitting it's stride on release date.
quote:This is also true cause i feel these beers are tuned to my taste buds. that can very from person to person.
I'd say a person's homebrew tastes better to them,
