So I understand your new deal that in order for someone to get a military discount you have to 'register' thru customer service, but if someone is in uniform then sorry, it should be a non-issue.

Anyway, I was buying a couple small items at Lowes and the cashier tells me, w/o me asking, that she can give me a military discount if I was registered. Thought about it for a second, then asked her if she was serious about having to register. She said yes, because people always ask for it and some don't have any ID or whatever. I told her I was sorry, but I wouldn't get in uniform just to get a damn discount. She asked if I wanted to go to CS to register. I told her no thanks... I registered in Jan 1988, which was the day I raised my right hand and swore my oath of enlistment.

So instead of going to CS you spent the extra time to cry on TD. Interesting.

You dressed in full military garb to go buy a couple items at Lowe’s?

The average Lowe’s cashier can’t differentiate between ACU’s & a Boy Scout uniform

I've had several stolen valor incidents in my career. The most common is someone using a costume. I know it was inconvenient for you, but the business isn't asking to much so they can manage it properly

Are you saying you intentionally put on your utilities just to go shopping at lowes?

You should’ve made her drop and give you 50 and called a code red.

I mean you can register online but showing proof is not that hard. They are giving vets a discount as a thank you for your service, no need to act like a whiny shitbag about it.

So you think because you signed up 30 years ago, you get to forego the Lowe's policy?

Are you entitled or just lazy?

I would think that you’d be happy that Lowe’s is trying to prevent these stolen valor jackasses from getting the same benefits that are available to you.

I am so sick of seeing people complain about a discount at Lowe’s that they don’t even have to offer in the first place. You and the others who do this shite make all servicemembers look bad.

No one owes you anything, play by the rules and get the discount, it’s that simple.

People like you are the reason people don't like vets, just to let you know. You feel entitled to not comply with someone trying to do something nice for you because of a choice you voluntarily made.

I'm not taking sides on this particular issue but in general, on principle, frick Lowes.

frick Lowes.

frick everything they stand for.

frick their business practices.

There's a reason you don't see real tradesman using Lowes. I used to keep a running list in my head of all the reasons Lowe's is a terrible place. The list got so long that it became unmanageable.
