Who was out there at the time and who should we have gotten?

There were dozens of more qualified coaches that could have been had if Alleva really wanted them.

As interim O did a pretty remarkable job so he did have some momentum going in.

6-2 is far from what defines remarkable. Particularly when he took over a team ranked in the top 5 preseason.

If Orgeron had been from Milwaukee, no one would've bothered arguing his candidacy.

Again, Jimbo (nor anyone out there) deserves a 10 year guaranteed job. A&M looks like their pants are down.

It might blow up in A&M's face, but at least they can say they got their guy. Our AD tucked his tail and made a lazy, emotional hire because his first choice had eyes for another.

Petulant??? You must have been on the debate team. All i'm saying is I couldn't care less about his overall record, but 9-4 was his first full year, and 2 losses shouldn't have happened. If he can pull out 10 wins this year, with a very challenging schedule, maybe some of YOU negators will give him some credit, but I doubt and i'm glad Coach O doesn't need it to be validated by 95% of you idiots on this site. He recognizes the weaknesses he inherited and is doing his best to correct him, give him a chance. We coming, get on board or continue to stay at the dock.

I guess if you call a man that's been coaching since the early 80s an unknown he's an unknown.

Its been decades since he has installed and ran his own offense

His stints at OC weren't exactly jaw dropping either....

He did well in that interim role running the offense but full responsibility and implementing your own stuff is completely different

Here we go. You've done it now bro. Attacking people when they mention anything positive. You're being negative again.

You people aren't true fans. You are more worried about Ed Orgeron than LSU.

And it shows because you fricks had been silent for 15 years. We didn't have these shite threads until he and DP were running the team.

You wanted Jimbo, right? more qualified, right? How'd you feel is LSU had given him the contract A&M did? 10 year guaranteed? Go fish! Some of you guys must live horrible lives.

No, what I wanted was for our incompetent AD to conduct an actual search to replace one of the winningest HCs this school has ever had. Instead he offered one guy, then threw his hands in the air and said “frick it” after his one option declined.

I gave Miles 6 years of defending him when he acted like an idiot several times a season. You haters won’t give O 12 months.

Actually never.

You're the one that brought up Orgeron doing better now than when he was at Ole Miss.

give him a chance

Alleva already gave him his chance in November of 2016. He's not a first-time head coach, he didn't take over a completely moribund program, and he has a full season under his belt. Fans don't owe him a chance in perpetuity.

Very cautious optimism is the best any sensible person can have right now without tangible results.

Of course not. Nothing wrong with expressing doubts about the current direction of the program either.

He's got 13 years as OC.
he made Jason Campbell and the auburn offense look horrible. He was replaced and they went on to an undefeated season and Campbell went to the pros. Ensminger was not a good OC ask fans where he was one.

Nice language, Sally. Can you tally up those 13 years for me?

Have to give the guy credit for his passion. May be a bit dramatic and sensitive, but really seems to love his Tigers and I can certainly respect that.

Who? Fisher wanted way too much.

He took over a team that already had 2 early season losses that had players and fans in a tailspin. They regrouped quite well. didn't they set Offensive records? Does any of that mean a thing to you?

We have the highest paid assistant coaches in the land. To pay and make Jimbo the highest paid coach at a ridiculous contract, too.....where does this cash come from within the school?
You say it "may" blow up in A&M's face so your willing to wait and see and give them a chance. Might you consider giving the current LSU regime a chance as well? It "may not" blow up.
