This sounds like a story you would read about a diva wide receiver or cornerback thats careless with money, not a 39 year old hall of fame quarterback who graduated from Purdue

Why would Brees trust this guy and his valuations of the jewelry? Why not get them appraised by a couple different experts.

I hope Brees wins this; if he's ripping off Brees, he's probably ripping off everybody who doesn't know the jewelry market.

says the fgt posting his daily WOD in the crossfit thread. Sorry the truth struck the wrong chord with you. Sometimes those black and gold shades just blind ya. brees is a glorified game manager who has underacheived his whole career. Any blind hog can win one championship. He plays for a pass happy coach who makes numbers look goods, but not wins.

This story has been in the news for a handful of months, right? I find it interesting that we haven't heard from anyone else with a similar issue with this jeweler.

Heard for years they are really bad with money.
Has had made 194 million just from contract money. That isnt even bringing in endorsements

I cant possibly believe he is that bad with money. It would be more apparent if he was, like it was with Holyfield

After taxes and his agent its probably closer to 100M, I have read somewhere that he has given just this jeweler around 30mil over the yrs. Nothing shocks me anymore when it comes to athletes and money.

Not just athletes. Look at how the Saban's invested in places around Baton Rouge.

Idk why people are so quick to believe that this jeweler is trying to pull a fast one on Brees.

I wonder what he considers cash poor.
He just bought a authentic John Wooden jersey for Purdue for 264K.

The jeweler says Brees has no one to blame but himself because the QB tried to offload the items before they had time to appreciate

When the hell is the last time you saw jewelry appreciate in value? Like cars, they lose their value once they go home with the customer

Yeah, sounds like the seller does take advantage of people given that’s his statement about the value and having to give it time..

Edit- Looks like Brees won the case

I thinknits Easy to say “investing in diamonds is dumb” and if the diamond was the exact clarity, Wright’s color etc... that the jeweler said it was and he wasn’t just outright lying about its value than Drew is a Dumby.

But that’s not what is alleged, and for this guy to come out and act like a guy who is making stupid money and just took a relatively team friendly extension when he could have made more as a hired gun is out there trying to pawn his jewelry doesn’t make him seem more credible.
