Zero interest.
I stopped reading after Feast for Crows with no intention of continuing until it's completed (by Brandon Sanderson).
My wife digs the show, so I don't mind finishing it but I hate every creative direction they've gone in since they passed the books. They are arse writers.

I’m not fully erect at this news, but I will most certainly watch the shite out of this show.
Unless it just sucks balls.

If your going to do a Got show you have to either do an old Valeria show, or, my personal thought, do a show about the shadow lands and the far far unknown east
It's hard for me to get exited because of the way they're mailing it in to rush the ending.

I think GOT is the greatest show ever, but I want a little break after it’s over. Unfortunately, HBO is going to try to keep the subscribers.

I'll definitely give it a shot, but I am extremely skeptical that it will be able to deliver even a fraction of what GoT did. Their main priority is absolutely writing one hell of a script, and then finding the right actors/actresses to get the audience emotionally invested ASAP. It's almost a scaled-up version of the burden TD1 had on 2.. except in this case it's multi seasons.
Anyways I digress. I have always thought the Shadowlands, Asshai, and Sothoryos was so cool, especially the occasional talk of it once being an area of huge civilizations ahead of their time but eventually dying out. And Sosothos was just basically a natural death wish from any who dared go there.
My biggest wish after having experienced GoT, is that I wish a new writer would come along one day that myabe a writer as great as

I'd have bet money that the first spinoff would be Dunk and Egg, but this is actually more interesting per se because we don't clearly know what happens in a lot of the stories.
We know what's going to happen at the end of Dunk and Egg's adventures.

Aerys poisons them and then lights the palace on fire?

Yes, no shite. They die. Good job being the one to state what readers all knew without having to hear it.

That’s actually a very controversial Crackpot theory. It was kind of a pun.

Who cares at this point. If it makes for good TV then go for it.

I know, but I was trying to avoid saying anything specific.

Member when Battle Star Galactica was going to take us back to when the robots were created. Yeah that series really held up well.
Maybe they could name this Game of Thrones: A Solo Story.

The more I think about it, the less I like the idea. I’m afraid they’re going to clump a bunch of potentially mythical characters into a very small, unrealistic time frame (considering the supposed age should last over many years). It will be silly if we see Lann the Clever, Bran the Builder, etc. all just chilling at the same time.

Absolutely. It’s kind of mind boggling how shitty their recent decisions have been. Capturing the wright just sealed the deal on the stupidity.
No significant screen time for direwolves
No Stark children as wargs (especially Jon)
No prophecy
No more grand political schemes (see Vaerys)
And no Euron as a complete badass with a full set of Valyrian armor plus dragon horn
Those are basically the coolest things in that universe and they said frick it

Yeah, it’s disputed whether Lann was an Andal or First Men, which if it’s even disputed would probably make Lann living closer to Aegon the Conquerer than Bran the Builder.

they already avoided showing the direwolves & dragons for the majority of the series because of CGI costs, now they are gonna do a spinoff series with more giants/cotf/mythical creatures that will use CGI? sounds like an odd decision

I’m surprised at all the negativity in this thread. If you’re a fan of this grrm universe, I don’t see how you can NOT be excited about this.
It won’t need your help on the ratings, it will be stupidly successful

This. Take me across the sea and show me the fall of Valeria. Show me what those ruins and towers in the desert were for.
