Why? All they do is average the scores of reviews by who liked it and didn't

here's the "jurassic" movie i want:
1) the dino's escape the island(s) to the wild
2) they basically disappear for a good long while, while the breeding populations converge/set-up shop and start doing their thing
3) the movie would pick up wherein the dinos are established enough as an "invasive" species that the new world order is man living with dino's for good
there are tons of good stories based on real environmental science that could be done in that scenario

So, it seems like critics are mixed for how original this movie is. Some people think it takes some creative new steps and has some interesting ideas whereas others say it’s dtkll generic.

I already said on here my idea sequel to Jurassic Park. At the end of the book, they realize dinosaurs had escaped to the mainland and were in the mountains of Costa Rica. Have a movie set in the mountain jungles and small little towns where the army has to come in to save the peasants and defeat the dinosaurs.

"Godzilla," at its core, has always been a cautionary tale about man's ability to create and destroy by manipulating natural forces, much like Crichton's original "Jurassic Park" novel.
Edit to add: have you read the book? There is more "out there" stuff in the novel than what showed up in the film when it comes to animals' genetics and displayed traits, which is sort of in line with what happened in "Jurassic World."

I've read some reviews and the general consensus seems to be that the first half is pretty much an action movie with a frick ton of dinos and the second part is much more isolated and horror driven. There's also a plot twist that some people loved and others didn't and also a couple of massive gut punches as well

I’ll watch it but I’m sure there was a great JP4 concept that got thrown in the trash in order to have made up dinosaur breeds and pet raptors.
not really, and the whole "Pratt and his gang of raptors" element was kept from Sayles 4 script.
it really sounded horrible. they basically retrieve the canister of dino DNA that Newman lost and create a hybrid dino-task force led by a marine dude to take over the island, or something like that.

Agreed, the Jurassic Park movies (including the first) are summer blockbuster popcorn flicks.
Crichton's book was a bit different.

Yeah, but the first film does still have the element of "doing that just because you could was a bad idea," most often spouted from the mouth of Ian Malcolm.

I should of said that I quit trusting critics along time ago.

That’s a silly mindset to take. There are a lot of different critics out there and a lot of them are at the very least... interesting. I listen to some critics I disagree with almost all the time, but they still help me see movies in new ways. Mainly I listen to podcasts and videos so I don’t get sucked into vapid writing.
One critic put it better than me. “If you don’t like my opinion, don’t listen to me. I’m not out there to say what a movie is to you. I’m here to say what it is to me. I have plenty of people who do agree with it. Find someone else whose opinions you do agree with. They’re out there.”

this is a Jurrasic Park thread!
I’m sick of hearing about Star Wars.
There’s a very obvious reason why The Last Jedi got a higher Rotten Tomatoes. It was a reaction to the previous two movies which were not well received in the critical community. I’ve heard critics talk about how they didn’t really care to The Last Jedi who said they ended up writing somewhat more favorable reviews just because they disliked the previous two movies so much and they saw That movie as being different, and therefore a sign of improvement.

Enough though. Enough talking about Star Wars. We’re talking about Jurassic Park/World

Crichton writes about SciFi tech like Melville wrote about Moby Dicks whiteness.

Prolly garbage like the first one. Crossing my fingers for another 90 Mercedes Benz ad.

Yeah but Godzilla wasn't about creating...it was simply about destroying.
And it was Japan dealing with and exercising the Atomic as a monster.
Godzilla is the Atomic bomb to the Japanese audience. There's not flies in amber...there's no nurturing.
Jurassic Park was the coolest science experiment ever to the general audience.
And then they had to just keep making it a monster movie.

That all of these movies have an inherently stupid plot, which is why only 1 out of 4 has been any good.

Are you saying that scientists didn't "create" the atomic bomb (real life)? Are you saying that atomic testing didn't "create" the monster that is Godzilla (film life)?
I didn't necessarily mean "create" as in "create life."
Godzilla is at "his" best when portrayed as a destructive force of nature born as a side effect of man's progress. (Even though I still find the silly, Godzilla-as-Earth's-champion movies enjoyable.)

But it’s definitely a turn your brain off movie
Well, no one is going to see a Jurassic Park/World movie expecting to see some existential thought piece like "Sunshine of a Spotless Mind" or thriller like "Silence of the Lambs".
If the raptors starting having a theological debate 20 minutes into the movie, I'm leaving.
