re: Now It’s Against the Law in California to Shower and Do Laundry on the Same Day

There would also be a lot more water if they weren’t pouring it straight into the ocean or if they had spent the last 40 years building dams and reservoirs instead of whining about the environmental damage by them.
Population. Economy. Environment. Pick two.
You can have tens of millions living in desert towns, you can have the economic engine that drives the state, or you can have strict environmental regulations that prevent you from doing additional infrastructure to support the two above.

Maybe Southern Cal shouldn’t try to hydrate the fricking desert.

My guess is that Governor Brown and other California elites will not go a day without bathing in order to wash clothes.

To make a long story short, now that these bills are law, it’s illegal to take a shower and do a load of laundry in the same day because you’ll exceed your “ration.”
And the left wonders why we think socialized medicine would lead to rationing....
I can't remember the last time a progressive was factually correct about anything.

When I lived in L.A. we went through a serious drougt throughout the state. There were regs places on water usage out of necessity.
DON'T BUILD YOUR SUBDIVISION IN A DESERT, GENIUS!
IT'S AS SIMPLE AS THAT!

Hey Dumbass,
How many MILLIONS of GALLONS of water are wasted on like 10 fish -- total. Look up Delta Smelt. Seriously, it is truly unbelievable.
Hey Dumbass,
Why is this state sitting on bazillions of gallons of clean water but refuses to touch it?
Hey Dumbass,
How many gallons of water are used daily keeping Hollywood's lush lavish lawns strong and green? The Kardashians lawn LITTERALLY and LEGALLY gets more water than entire towns after this new law.

Take a look at an aerial image on google earth of LA. Damn near every house has a swimming pool in those high end neighborhoods. Maybe they should ban swimming pools if its that bad.

How the f*ck do they plan on policing that?
Good point.
It's one thing to enforce watering restrictions--anyone can drive by and see if you're doing that. Are they going to get a warrant to listen for the sounds of a shower head and a washing machine?

This really isn't a political issue, they were about out of water a few years back, so stop making it one. What I can't understand is why they haven't built desalination plants yet.
Posted on 6/4/18 at 11:11 am to SlowFlowPro
I'm not blaming the water issue on the government my man.
I get this was a water thread but I was reminiscing my days of old growing up in Cali, and how leftist policy has made it unbearable to live there for me for many other reasons than water.

Out of water, and unwilling to use water are very different things. Where does the unwillingness to use certain water, or methods come from? Politics.
So to say it's not a political issue is off base

california could have water pipelined in from other states
They already do. They steal water from Arizona via the colorado river
Posted on 6/4/18 at 11:38 am to RockyMtnTigerWDE
a friend of mine just got back from colorado talking about the drought. they have meters on their water usage which charge different prices for different parts of the day. an acquaintance washes clothes at midnight because it's cheaper. i couldn't handle that nonsense. sometimes i get in the shower and just soak for about 5-10 minutes staring at the wall.

Yeh, too bad they don’t have some of the brightest hydrologists and engineers working on a solution.
They’ve been working on a realistic, long term solution for decades.de-salinating sea water on that scale ain’t so easy. But that’s not what you guys care about. What’s more important is making your juvenile and vacuous point about California and liberals on a right wing circle jerk of a message board. Yeah, I flame because you twits have become tiresome.
Look, I lived in Southern California for several years and absolutely loved it.
But don't act like the politicians there have any intention of actually solving the problem.
They only care about staying in power and keeping the Hollywood and San Francisco liberals happy. That is an undeniable fact. The rest of the state be damned.

Cali is so strange!
How will they enforce that crap? Moonbeam is a 'tard!

Yeah, I remember when she did this. I made a mental note to myself: “Self...if ever presented with the opportunity, NEVER shake hands with Sheryl Crow.”

I have a cousin in CA, he's been bugging me since I retired from the military "you should back to CA, you could get a really high paying job providing private security or something along those lines" but in the last 2 years he's stopped doing, I mean bums right at the end of his driveway asking for change, sleeping in tents right in front of his house, a vehicle stolen right out of his garage, his 8 year old mugged 200 feet from the house for a pair of tennis shoes. Now water rationing LOL he's out here on vacation right now, kids are in the pool, nearest neighbors are 3 miles away and that's my parents on one side and my in laws on the other, and I own all the land in between. I Leave the keys in my car in the driveway half the time, just a different life. His kids told him last night "we need to move to Arkansas so we can live good too"
