Hey dumbass, maybe instead of wasting billions on a train that will never be completed they should look into doing what the Israelis do and re filter and recycle sewage water for farmers. Then they could stop being dictators, be more enviro friendly, grow better crops and save money all at once.

Born and raised there myself. Was a magical childhood and into my 20's. I wouldn't move back and put up with what it has become.

The problem with all the ones leaving is that a majority of them created it with their votes and political leanings. Then they go and screw up another beautiful place (see Colorado for one). They don't accept that they are the reason for these places going to shite.

It's maddening.

I guess it’s not so crazy a law since California is running out of water.

Of course like someone else said, this won’t help Bc agriculture takes so much water. Plus this’ll be tough to enforce.

california could have water pipelined in from other states or build desalination plants for ocean water.

The only issue with this is that it is crazy expensive.

The Democrat elitists think it's a good idea bc they don't ever do their own laundry.

Hey dumbass they don’t do that for shits and giggles.

When I lived in L.A. we went through a serious drougt throughout the state. There were regs places on water usage out of necessity.

The grownups understood and mostly complied.

Now I understand why they are so interested in being a sanctuary state. The people who flock to the state from south of the border won’t tax the water resources much at all.

I don’t think their are Spanish words for bath or shower.

The quotas are for municipalities not individuals. Any fine would be levied against the municipality. Many cites are operating at quotas below the new requirements.

Shockingly OP article left all of that out but hey it got clicks.

Yeh, too bad they don’t have some of the brightest hydrologists and engineers working on a solution.

They’ve been working on a realistic, long term solution for decades.de-salinating sea water on that scale ain’t so easy. But that’s not what you guys care about. What’s more important is making your juvenile and vacuous point about California and liberals on a right wing circle jerk of a message board. Yeah, I flame because you twits have become tiresome.

California's 9 million acres of farmland uses 80% of their water. Israel recycles 90 %of their waste water and uses it all for agriculture.

Politicians are too dumb to use logic.

They could even charge the farmers more for the new "fertilizer infused" water supply.

Yes, and they can also find a better way to use ground water from rain rather than let it flow down the man made concrete rivers, and into the ocean.

I thought CA already was draining the Colorado river?
I guess there’s only so much fresh water out west. I wouldn’t think Nevada or Arizona have a lot to spare.

Whoever finally figures out a cheap way to desalinate ocean water will be the hero of the world.

There’s a documentary on Netflix about the water situation in California and how a handful of people have come to control it: LINK

To make a long story short, now that these bills are law, it’s illegal to take a shower and do a load of laundry in the same day because you’ll exceed your “ration.”

I showered twice today, ran the dishwasher, and did a load of laundry. Where do I turn myself in?

Hey. What actress split the toilet paper pieces up when they wiped their arse to save the environment? Y'all member that?

Sheryl Crow....

In an effort to help save the environment, U.S. singer Sheryl Crow is calling on everyone to limit the amount of toilet paper used "in any one sitting"to one square.

Crow made the suggestion in her blog chronicling her recent tour of the United States on a biodiesel-powered bus to raise awareness about climate change.

She and environmental activist Laurie David toured 11 university campuses to persuade students to act to help safeguard the world's environment.

"I have spent the better part of this tour trying to come up with easy ways for us all to become a part of the solution to global warming. Although my ideas are in the earliest stages of development, they are, in my mind, worth investigating," she writes.

"One of my favorites is in the area of conserving trees, which we heavily rely on for oxygen.

"I propose a limitation be put on how many squares of toilet paper can be used in any one sitting.…We can make it work with only one squareper restroom visit."

Crow acknowledges there could beoccasions when the one-square limit might not suffice, such as "on those pesky occasions where two to three could be required."

She writes that when she presented the idea to her younger brother, he went a step further, suggesting that people could "just wash the one square out."

Crow's other green ideas include a clothing line she has designed with a detachable "dining sleeve" that can be used as a napkin, thereby saving on the use of paper napkins.

She also suggests a reality show in which participants compete to live the greenest life.
