Las Vegas, NV - The Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department reports that police have shot a female suspect near Desert Inn Road and Nellis Boulevard.
The incident took place in the 3400 block of Big Sur Drive, a residential street south of Hal Smith Elementary School.
LVMPD reports that the woman attacked an officer and other citizens with a shovel about 10:30 p.m. An officer shot the woman, who was transported to Sunrise Hospital. She was reported in serious but stable condition, according to a LVMPD news release early Sunday morning.

The moment he shot her was kinda weird, but I think it's a clean shoot. He should've shot earlier when she was aggressive and walking towards him.

Bc from the video it looks like he was the o lt Officer on scene.
In a perfect world he would have his gun drawn and another officer would have a taser. That way one is covering the other with deadly force should the taser not work.

She’s half walking away and he shoots. A bad shoot to me. He could have bum rushed her and taken her down. Granted she was acting like an idiot and put herself in this position

I'm not sure it's a bad shoot legally.
But I do have a problem with the idea that even a farfetched threat of serious harm justifies shooting someone.
Yes, it's still on her for not complying, but just because it's her fault doesn't mean that should be the mentality.

She was walking in that general direction. Maybe they were showing that she was walking towards a bystander in a threatening manner?
This one doesn’t feel too good but in the end the lady is clearly not a contributing member to society. I don’t feel bad when stupid people suffer consequences of their stupidity. But if we are judging the officers actions, I think he decided to shoot when it wasn’t an imminent threat.
