I shot a 127 at Silver Lakes golf Course in a US OPEN local qualifier last year. Played it down and out the whole time. Carded a 68 on the front and a 59 on the back

Did you frame your red letter from the USGA?

Some say shite players don't effect others, but that simply is not true.

It use to bother me after 3 holes of helping look for their ball. Now I don't help anymore. I just load up on more beer at the turn.

I shot 68 at the Junior Falls City Amateur qualifying when I was 16. I was -4 the next day in the first round of the match play in the Championship flight when I beat my opponent 7&6. Also shot a 70 that summer at a course outside Lexington, KY at a state-level junior tour event (double bogeyed both the first and last holes) and another 70 at a club championship at a course in Louisville. I shot a lot of 71's and 72's at tournaments back in those days, but cracking the 70 nut took me longer than it should have.

The best I have ever played period was the next year when the varsity squad at my high school got taken to Valhalla for an intra-squad qualifier (basically, to determine who would be 1 through 12 in the first part of the season). I shot 76 from the tips and have never hit the ball better than that day and probably never will.

Didn’t play much junior golf after the 9 hole days or any high school golf. Shot 34 a couple times but I guess it doesn’t count when you’re playing from made up tees at 10 years old

Played in an am tournament one summer during college. Shot 73 with 37 putts

Do you have to be a Louisiana resident in order to participate in the Amateur or Mid-Am? Given what has been said about not enough guys to complete a full competitive field, that maybe it would be open to more?

I know Florida doesn't, but Florida is also golf's mecca.

Yes you do have to be a Louisiana Resident. You’re right though, we have a hard time getting a full field of 144. Next year should bring out some good fields. State AM @ BRCC and Mid Am up at Squire.

I am actually playing in a qualifier for the Florida AM next week....

Nervous because I haven't swung a club since playing in a Mid-Am qualifier over 3 weeks ago....

Got married and just got back from honeymoon, now it's suppose to rain every day until the qualifier. So, not sure what I am going to do for practice or even if I'll get a practice round in for it. Any suggestion is much appreciated.
