I played quite a bit of tournament golf as a junior. Was always a baseball player first, but loved the tournament atmosphere golf provided. That feeling on the first tee never gets old. I play to about a 6 now and was probably about an 8 back then.

In our State Junior, I started off a round bogey, double, double. Not a great start. My dad was late getting out there to watch and I saw him on my way to the 4th tee. I told him, "I'm about to turn it on". To that point, I had felt like I hadn't hit a bad shot, just a few bad breaks. I proceeded to shoot -3 the rest of the way for a 74.

73, a few 74s. Shot 76 back in the day at LSU to help claim the frat tourney title. Chipped in for eagle on 18. My frat brother also logged a 76.

It wasn't a stipulated round, per se, but it was for money and we played it down and putted everything out. My lowest round doing that was a 75 at Oxmoor Valley in Birmingham. Was even par headed to 17 and bogeyed 17 and doubled 18. My lowest round ever is 73 at my home course in Memphis, Ridgeway Country Club. Wish I was still as good I was then. It is a very rare day that I can break 80 now.

Spring of '83 or '84. Don't remember which. The old LSU course. I just remember hitting great shots most of the day and putting like a chump.

Shot 70 twice my senior year in high school in different state tournaments, and I also shot 70 in the second round of my club championship when I was in college. I never have broken that barrier in tournament golf.

72 at Garden Valley in Tyler, Texas. 41 on the front and 31 on the back. Still not sure what happened on the back, but it never happened again and that was over 20 years ago.

What tees? I'm still hitting it far enough not to go to the old guy tees just yet.

Yellow 64 is 64 wherever you play from. I didn’t put an asterisk by the score

Just asking, not judging. Shooting your age is a major accomplishment regardless of the tee used.

I should probably move up, it'd be better on my back

Audi stretched Bayou Oaks out to 7181 on us 2 weeks ago, it was tough, especially modified alternate shot, I’m too old and fat for that shite.

Amen to that. I can't handle the 8000 yard RTJ courses anymore. I could barely do it before back surgery and I was playing great.

Anything over 6600 these days and I'm asking for trouble till I get my 4 iron back from my SIL
