I don’t think they eat that unhealthy all the time. Eating out is like a 3 hour ordeal there. I’m sure their home diets are healthy.

But yes, there is an extreme lack of diversity in a lot of Europe. Just got back from Germany and it’s 85% white people. If anything, the biggest minority I saw in the city centers were Arabs. Don’t know how recent that is.

And smoking is unreal. Eating outdoors is unpleasant and I went to an FCB game and people were ripping cigs in the stadium

Sugar, they don’t consume nearly as much of it as we do. Also. They don’t eat very much fast food even though it can be found everywhere. They also walk a lot more and work considerably less, so less stress and more exercise.

They’re naturally less diverse as the majorities have been there for hundreds if not thousands of years. Further, they’re a bit more diverse than you’re letting on. Citing Switzerland in a conversation about diversity is like citing Utah.

And most people definitely do not speak 4 languages fluently. Not even close.

Last 5-10 years although there was a fairly large Turkish population already there. The Turks are pretty westernized at this point.

Not the best time of year. Summer gets going later and it can be very pleasant. The climate in Germany reminds me of here in WA state.

There are plenty of fat people in Europe, but like much of the US, they are mostly found outside of metropolitan areas. But I do agree, our fatties are especially fat. And I think that the bread and sugar aspect is mainly to blame.

By the number of ice cream shops you mention, I'm guessing that you were in metropolitan or touristy areas. If you were to report the same things (a generally thin people surrounded by an abundance of sweets) from San Diego, Austin, or New York, no one would be surprised.

I like how you don’t have to tip and taxes are included.

When you factor in those things, it really isn’t that much more expensive.

The answer is sugar.

The United States eats significantly more grams of sugar/person than any other country in the world.

Weather was fine just the thirty people smoking next to you. Wouldn’t let it ruin a meal but it’s unpleasant when you aren’t used to it in the US

I spent two years in Germany back in the 80's and from my experience this is not close to being true.

Got you. I smoked when I lived over there so I wasn't bothered.

So you're basing your opinion on an anecdote from 30 years ago?

Pretty much this and refined carbs. One can of coke has more sugar than I probably consume in a week and people drink 10 a day.
