Good restaurants that don't receive the business they deserve.

CIBO. 5 Stars on Yelp

Place is so good if you are looking for no-frills classic NY Italian. Their bagels and cannolis are great too.

Truth be told, I'm sure they do a big lunch and are doing just fine overall, but I typically go in the evenings and we've been one of the only tables at times.

How We Roll is formerly Kamado's right? If so, solid choice. Love their Hibachi dinners.
Don Jose is criminally underrated as well.

Don Jose is awesome, and I tell everyone I know. I think the problem with Mexican joints is that when people decide to go out for Mexican, especially groups of women, the atmosphere of Superior (or Velvet Cactus I guess) wins out every time. And most people don’t eat Mexican food more than occasionally.

Hopefully they got a good deal on rent, so there’s no chance of us losing them.

The epitome of this was Dolce Vita. It was hands down the best pizza in the city when Bogdan was on the oven. Unfortunately the lack of business caused him to leave and the restaurant to close.

Wish Bogdan would open another shop in a better location.

Speaking of Superior, how long will that parking situation last at the Highland location? I tried to go into Robert's on Friday at 5pm and couldn't as every single spot in the strip mall lot was taken. I can't imagine Robert's is going to let that stand for much longer.

Eliza Restaurant on Jefferson Hwy in Baton Rouge.

LINK

It's become the go-to spot for my fiancee and I to enjoy a high quality weeknight meal in a casual setting. Very "New Orleans-like" in their food offerings and a menu that changes with the seasons.

Had some awesome fried oysters with a horseradish cream a few weeks ago.

Red Dog Diner. Maybe I go during off hours, but I've never been when it's very busy. At least three times we've been either the only table or one of two tables. If asked about a decent restaurant that gets more business than it deserves I'd nominate Rum House and the two restaurants have the same owner.

Also Wayfare on Freret.

While that may be true, I also heard it out and about Lafayette.

Sorry you are a part owner.

Im working in BR today and about to try Christina's with my next door neighbor who is working at the capitol today. I remember when it was Maggio's when I was at LSU. Hope it's good!
