I always ask white people like this why they don't kill themselves to end their white privilege.

They seem quite privileged themselves. They didn't have their whole town out of work because the local factory moved to China. They didn't get thrown off their health insurance. They have someone else taking care of them so they have the luxury to sit in judgment of others.

it's kind of like why certain people who run PETA were allowed to get treatment that violates PETA's ethical standards, or why communist leaders get more food and nicer homes...they're too important to the cause

which, in this context, is ironic b/c it's an even bigger display of white privilege and whitesplaining than they could comprehend
