Anyone have one that last a month or more? First thought it was a strain but pain starting running from neck to elbow. Is a chiropractor or deep tissue massage the answer? The pain is a 10 when it starts to radiate and brings me to a stop.
The hope is that it isn't a bulging/herniated disc impinging on that nerve. If it is, then probably nothing but waiting it out is going to work to see if it will rectify itself. If it doesn't, could mean surgery. Good luck, man. I hate that shite.
Massage might feel good, but is probably useless. I'm deeply skeptical of chiro's ability to help something like this, but there's at least a chance.

Can't help but is that the same as if when I touch my neck in a certain spot I get a painful shooting electric shock down it to where my collar bone is? I've had it since I can remember but probably have only trigerred it under 10 times

The most miserable experience I ever had and I had a ruptured Achilles. I rather a rupture then that pain. I had to go to PT to work on it. Time and ice and heat and time.

Is the pain/tingling radiating down to your triceps and to your fingers? A few years ago I had nerve root impingement between C5-C6 and it was incredibly painful. A friend is a trainer for the Arizona DBacks and worked on it and now I'm at almost 100% with just some slight tingling at times. Address it ASAP as it can get much worse, with some muscle atrophy that you will never get back. Consider seeing a physiatrist and getting an EMG.

The pain goes into my shoulder and down my triceps into my elbow. It’s more of a throbbing then a pins and needle feeling. Also, have several areas of muscle twitching around the area.
I tried dry needling a few weeks back and seemed to helped momentarily. Yesterday was the worst day of all and is still bothering me today

Mine was at C1-2. Pretty much the same feeling. Got it from doing BJJ. Probably the most intense pain I have experienced and almost passed out getting an MRI. Lost a ton of strength on my right side. I ended up going to a chiro, but honestly, a decompression table is what helped the most. 4 times a week plus lots of ice on my neck.

quote:no, that's a waste of time and money. Dealt with this for 10 years or more. Naproxen works for me. It won't help the first day or so. Around 3rd or 4th day of taking as directed it will begin to help. Gonnna take time and not doing much of anything that can aggravate it.

Good call on taking Naproxin/Aleve- it was the only thing that gave me any pain relief.

I’ve gotten this several times when straining on inclines. It fricking sucks trying to sleep with it. It’s usually gone after about a week though

I had similar issues. Bulging disc. I went see a physical therapist and they got me back to 100%. I’m actually stronger now than I was then.

Get some gabapentin. Takes a while to kick in but helps manage my bulging disk pain...

I'm not a doctor or any type of medical professional but symptoms at least sound like Thoracic outlet syndrome.

Shoulder impingement? Symptoms are similar.

Look up "cervical radiculopathy mackenzie therapies".
See if the symptoms match you, then try the BASIC Mackenzie maneuvers.
Rule one. If it hurts more stop.

You should do PT if you haven't tried yet

Did this today. Laying in the bed with my TENS unit on it as I type this. For muscle pain, this thing is a lifesaver.

I ordered some MSM gonna give it a try. I just recovered from a major knee injury and already have arthritis in my knee Hopefully it works. Giving it the full work over of adjustments, dry needling and cupping. Hooked up to the Tens unit also.
