Answer one question. You clearly implied that if you were on the plane you wouldn’t feel safe to fly again and, at 30 years old, it would cause you to lose your career. In that situation, how much would you be asking SW to pay you due to the incident?

If you sue, there should be a clause inthere saying if you ever fly again you have to forfeit all moneu won.

If you are tramatized from being in a car wreck and win money based on that, you shouldnt drive ever again either. I would hate to see someone suffer from ptsd by driving to the grocery store.

Yeah, because being scared is worth 1/2 as much as dying.

So you're saying more like $12-15k then?

That will undoubtedly be settled out of court IMO.

I pretty much hate this mindset, but I’m sure many who were not drastically affected by this experience will go this route in order to make a quick buck off of a tragic event.

While I wouldn't disagree, do you think companies would ever put customers first over making a quick buck? Companies usually take advantage of customers as long as the financial incentive is there. Now, if we had a better social contract in place, then this would be a different story.

Oh, I see. This is the thread where all the people who love tort reform fantasize about how much they’d sue for mental anguish over a freak accident in which no physical harm occurred.

And there it is. What is wrong with America today. You would gladly sell your integrity for an easy ride. How much does your integrity cost? Did you ever figure it out?

I guess this is to avoid any lawsuits, but I don't understand why people, who were not injured, would try to sue.

WN just trying to do damage control, doubt there will be any successful suits from those that lived, already a precedent from UAL 232 survivors, they sued because they "felt the fear of possibly dying," and thankfully, lost

I'd consider it a moral imperative to ensure the consequences of the event were not wholly decided by the offending party.

It's absurd to think a person or company can determine what their punishment should be when they screw up. Ever heard of moral hazard?
