Why do women say, "I keep myself looking good for me. Not for my man."?

In my mind, I'm thinking, "You should keep yourself looking good for me. If not, I'll eventually no longer be physically attracted to you." Typing that out, I can see how shitty it sounds, but there has to be some truth right? Am I the only one here?
I get being healthy and staying in shape for yourself in order to live longer and what not, but I think it's nonsense to think they only want to look good for themselves and no one else. The roles can be reversed, too. I sure a woman wants their man to look good for them as well.

Real Talk: She keeps herself looking good because she's casting a line out and hoping to catch a bigger fish.

As long as she is doing it I wouldn't really worry too much about why she is doing it
Unless she is doing it for another guy

Women are on sale, 24/7. They know it.

Do you think they would say "if it wasn't for my man, I'd look like shite and weigh 3 bills?

If you look good, you play good?

She’s trying to portray herself as an independent woman with high self esteem.
Except independent women with high self esteem don’t have to constantly remind others that they’re independent and valuable.

I'm not a woman, but I stay in good shape for myself more than any other reason. Being fat or not keeping up with personal hygiene is not a good feeling and no way to go through lifeZ
I imagine most self-respecting people do the same.

You know women who refer to their boyfriends/husbands as "my man"?
