I kill a few hours a week at the PJ’s in Norco in between meetings. I rarely buy anything but just use the internet. I would be pretty fricking pissed if they just kicked me out one day

What will Starbucks do with homeless people who decide they'd rather spend the night there and sleep indoors than leave?

Doesn’t sound like racial bias. Sounds like this ain’t your couch, move it on.

Now it looks like that have set the precedent that you can hang out and they won’t ask you to leave.

Would love to see all kinds of people just go sit around and visit without buying anything to see what would happen.

Starbucks To Close All US Stores On May 29th
For racial bias training. Jesus Christ that's a bit of an overreaction

Well, I think it's about time. White people have been persecuted in this country for too long for things hardly anyone alive today has had any substantive hand in. Sins of the father don't follow; this isn't medieval Europe after all.

Ok, per Google there are 8,222 company owned Starbucks in the US. At 10 employees per store and minimum wage (although Starbucks pays above that), if they send their employees through an 8 hour racial bias class on May 29th they're spending about $4.8 million in wages that day with no return.

I bet they would get the same PR effect by saying "On May 29th we're closing all of our US stores at noon to hold a 4 hour racial bias seminar" - at half the cost and recovering 75% of their revenue that day.

They're not virtue signaling like good capitalists.

Edit: Ok, maybe they are doing a decent job of optimizing their virtue signaling.

It’ll probably come out in a couple of years that this was all bogus. One big set up, like most fake liberal stories of injustice we consistently see.

No only that but they chose May 29th which everybody knows is the day Martin Gottfried Weiss, German SS officer and commandant of the Dachau concentration camp died. Are they in mourning?

For such a sprawling empire, Starbucks generally runs a tight ship. It’s a bold business move to lose all that money in order to make a statement that they’re taking an isolated incident at 1 store very seriously. I think it says a lot for their CEO/management.
