Pretty much. Happiness is an emotion, peace and contentment are states of mind

I think a lot about this. What I will think about my life when I'm old. If I'll regret anything. What forms of happiness and what memories will mean the most to me 60 years from now. Will a bunch of simply sitting outside in great weather with a drink be as special as one grand adventure.

I think way too much.

Happiness is an intangible that is based primarily on an individual’s outlook of one’s self and life. Simply put, it’s a choice to live happy rather than to live in sorrow and self pity.

Heard Ed Foreman say this many years ago, it’s still true today, and always will be.

If one sets out to be happy they will always be disappointed. Happiness is a byproduct of having peace in your heart. Peace is what to aim for and it comes from doing the right thing AKA God’s will vs. your will. When your will and God’s line up, man life is amazing.

Happiness is the temporary mental transition from how you felt to feeling more satisfied compared to how you just previously felt.

The pursuit of said happiness drives every choice you ever make

This is the only correct answer in the entire thread.

What you pass along in an inheritance will also be taxed. Thanks for playing this game of life.

There is no federal inheritance tax for estates less than $10 million, and Louisiana has no inheritance tax.

The helpful things I learned from Ed Foreman are:

1. Who controls what you think? Only you do. Your mind will eventually do what you tell it to.

2. Train your mind through repetition to believe what you are telling it

Repeat the following phrase to yourself 10x and see if you notice any difference in your positive outlook:

Ready, and go....

I am going to have a great day.

I know working under these florescent lights and staring at a computer screen 8-5, 5 days a week, isn't happiness. Once I find that dream job to where I can work where I want and pick up and go as needed, that'll be happiness.

Such a tough question that I think people are starting to get better at finding the answer for. Everyone is different so there isn't really a right answer. My goal is to always wake up and not completely dread the day that I have in front of me. I still think I'm in the process of finding what activities make me feel "happy" and understanding what I have to do to achieve those moments as frequently as possible for as long as I can.

You sound miserable. Good luck.
