As we head into April.

And all of Pawl's butt kissers keep saying everything is fine.

I love to roast Paul, but what would you like the fan base to say? Fire him? Are you mentally handicapped?

I’m not a big fan, but he’s the most consistent winner in the entire country. Give him a few seconds to breathe and fix this.

I think it's time to get Hess back where he belongs in the closer role. Maybe let Labas be the Friday starter.

One of my pet peev's with Pawl is his loyalty to certain players.

He anointed Hess & Gilbert as weekend starters after last season.

What's wrong with open competition?

Yea, the 2 run support Hess got tonight should have been enough!

Agree. Isn’t his ERA the result of just one or maybe 2 bad outings? The rest of the time he’s been solid. I mean 2 runs of support isn’t much leeway.

Well last night it was 4 runs in 3 1/3 innings. That's about an 11 ERA. (I don't know if they were all earned, offhand)

Unfortunately they were....at least that is what the announcers said.
He has zero CONSISTENT control of a second pitch.
That will not work as a weekend starter in the SEC....unless you are throwing 97/98+ with movement.

This just isn’t true. We’ve seen Hilliard take one weekend starter’s place, but who the heck would you replace them with? The only real candidates are being eased back after injuries.

You’re a damn jackass...

Hess really wasn’t the problem last night. We had ample opportunities to win that game. We constantly had runners in scoring position and couldn’t do anything with it.

The 2nd homer Hess gave up, the batter nearly dropped to his knee to hit it. Sometimes you just have to tip your hat to the Vandy hitters.

This is just wrong, hes consistently throwing his slider for strikes. It's his strikeout pitch. Just because he had a bad outing the first time in 4 starts doesn't mean the sky is falling. He has been very good until last night. He has thrown all 3 of his pitches for controlled strikes. Last night was an exception not the rule. Jesus christ.

We have to get some healthy arms.

I hate LSU is in this position. We were so spoiled with our starting rotation and now we have two relievers forced to be Friday and Saturday night guys.

It seems like Hess is struggling trying to pace himself. He’s still very dominant versus inferior competition this way.

I agree with you. It’s also still early. Let’s see how he does next outing.

Long has the Rant dreamed of a perfect season where we win the national title and fire the coach.

Pitching was good. Two mistakes and s psychotic zone.

Ump was forcing both pitchers to the dead midddle, our hitters did a pretty good job but couldn’t get the key hit.

So, an appearance in the CWS finals last season isn't fine with you? You're trying to criticize a coach who consistently wins and makes it the CWS on a regular basis. It's kind of hard to talk bad about a coach who wins as much as Paul does. I mean what can you really say? Let's fire him because he didn't win the finals and got off to a slow start this year? Give me a fricking break.

ETA: Also, I hate to burst your bubble but last years team got off to a slow start as well and you see how that turned out.
