Mine are a 2 hour plane ride away and have never been to our house to see their 2 granddaughters even though they are physically and financially able to do so.

This includes when out second child was born at 28 weeks, never made an attempt to come out and help or be with their daughter.

My little one will be 3 in May and they have only seen her once and that is when we were in their state on vacation. I have zero plans to go visit them again.

Very selfish people.

Mother-in-law is an angel. Loving and supportive of us, great cook, great person, would give you the shirt off her back.

Father-in-law is a deadbeat, narcissistic alchie that isn't allowed in our life.

Current in-laws are great. Previous MIL is taking up oxygen that a beagle could be breathing.

My in-laws are great. It’s my parents that like to start crap and stir the pot.

The only difference between in-laws and out-laws is that out-laws are wanted.

My FIL is a great guy. He's extremely smart and I always love getting in deep philosophical discussions with him. My MIL has a good heart but drives my wife crazy. She sees the negative in everything and just never seems happy unless she's miserable and loves to share that misery with my wife.

But they both love me and my wife and they do their best. Actually, they side with me over my wife on everything, which drives my wife crazy.

My parents are awesome, but my mom can be too much sometimes. But they also side with me on everything so I can't complain

My FIL is a little different. He would do anything for us but hes getting a little odd in his ways the older he gets. My MIL is one of the sweetest ladies to walk the earth

My in-laws are fantastic, from my father in law, to my mother in law, to my sisters and brother in law.

Sure they annoy me sometimes. I annoy them. I annoy my wife. It is what it is. But ultimately they are wonderful.

I have two sets as my wife’s parents both divorced and remarried.

All are nice but one in particular is mentally ill and tends to self-medicate, which makes them interesting to deal with. Still a nice person but not particularly reliable or stable.

All things considered, I would say I got a relatively decent set. Distance helps as one set lives about 30m away and the other set lives about 90m away, meaning minimal day-to-day meddling.

Granted, I’m generally also more easy-going than my wife who sees slights toward her or some of the kids because she feels, correctly or incorrectly, that the grandparents play favorites with our kids and their cousins. I know better than to get wound up on that shite.

My in laws rock. We vacation with them quite often.

Kick ads people who I would befriend if no relation to.

We go scuba diving with them a bunch.

I’m very lucky.

We may be married to the same woman.

Only difference is my mother in law also is stealing about 4-6k dollars a year from my wife and has been for about 20 years.

my in-laws are fantastic. no complaints about them. my parents on the other hand...

if my MiL needed to live with us tomorrow i'd look for another house with a bigger room for her. she's awesome.

my rancher FiL who lived in southern Mississippi during segregation will occasionally say something mildly racist around my kids and that pisses me off, but it's usually just a generational racist quip, not "hateful" if that's possible.

By in-laws are awesome people. I wished they lived down the street instead of two states away.

Just let him speak his peace and use it as a teaching lesson for your kids. It's just the way he was raised and a consequence of his life experiences.

My MIL hates it when I use racial slurs around my kids, but she's learned to bite her tongue.

My in-laws are amazing.

Father in law helps me with anything I need help with and has taken me hunting/fishing. He is very involved with my kids as they are his most important thing to him.

MIL is amazing as well. Very supportive of me and my wife. She always finds the positives in people and never judges or gossips. Also loves our kids.

Their marriage is a picture of what can grow from two people who are committed to eachother through thick and thin. And when they are no longer here on this good earth we will all be worse for it

I get along well with my in-laws. My wife and mom also have a great relationship and will hang out on their own when my mom visits. I've realized in recent years how lucky I am that this is the case.

My in laws are good to us most of the time. They’re still fricking assholes because when they’re not being good to us, they’re bending over to be assholes to us.
