When all of this initially happened, wasn’t there a witness that said gasser stood over him and ‘finished him’? I know that didn’t actually happen, but wasn’t that reported at the scene by an eyewitness?
yes

of the judge allowing the previous road rage incident.

I was just wondering about this.. Well, I thought I read that he was involved in a road rage situation in the past, but this answers my question.

Correct, McKnight basically blocked him in.

It should be life or the death penalty for killing another person.

Did the evidence show that there was no way he could have driven away (or even have tried to so so) at the point McKnight got out of the car and started to approach his? Seems that would be the most reasonable action.

McKnight was at the passenger window with a ladder between him and Gasser. This decision seems like a no-brainer to me.

Gasser could have simply rolled the window up and ignored McKnight and deescalated the situation. Instead he fired three times.

i don't think he needed to pull a gun out and shoot, but you can't argue that he wasn't scared

Sure, he could have been scared but there was something between him and McKnight. It would seem that reason was out the window at this point of the encounter because no reasonable decisions were made. Just like the Will Smith case.

Don't get involved in road rage situations and this doesn't occur.

I just can't understand why people get so bent out of shape driving.

Well, there's only like three people on the road in Alaska at any given time so...

I'm sure you have your share of traffic up there.

I drive in Seattle quite a bit. I don't understand why people subject themselves to that kind of stress.

It sounded like McKnight didn't break the plane of the vehicle.

you are in same situation, does the thought of the dude approaching having a gun come to mind? I'm not taking no chances i'm gonna have my gun in hand. What if joe was at the window and reaching in his waist band or pocket. Tense situation that you can't get out of. Still need to be more in control of the situation with a gun. You need to think twice before approaching someone's vehicle in a road rage incident. You dont know whats going on in their mind.

what was charge he got convicted of? I see the guilty charge but 30 seems harsh for this situation.

So the judge basically said....both were at fault, and since one was dead as a result, I will make sure the other dies a much worse death as an old white guy in prison!!

Was Trudy White the judge in this trial?
