I know I know I'm young, (born in '89)

I've always heard and thought this movie was a fun exciting action packed movie about a bunch of kids taking on the Russians, 'MERICA!!!!!

And it kind of is that, except I didn't realize how freaking dark it is, they show them mass murdering civilians constantly, including all of their parents, nukes were dropped on major cities, characters are constantly dying.

I mean damn they even kill one of their own for betraying them, before the final battle when they essentially are ALL killed, all while upbeat action music is being played

Just brutal man

Its based on a true story

Its sad, but the 1984 version was much more accurate than the new one

several people died when the Russians invaded Colorado

God Bless those Wolverines

Oh yea don't get me wrong, the movie was awesome and almost constant action which was great.

I liked how they skipped trying to explain how the kids got so good with grenades, RPG's, mounted machine guns etc.... Nobody wants to watch them train and shite.

One thing the remake did better was have them invade a west coast city and not some random town in Colorado

I remember being freaked out and always looking for parachuters outside my elementary school windows.

Unless they pick the right song to play while you see them do months worth of training in a few minutes of screen time. Something like Eye of the Tiger.

Yeah. 80's kids spent half the day hunting each other. The other half arguing over who hit who with the imaginary bullets.

That’s all kids man it’s just evolved. Those of us who were kids in the mid 90’s-2000’s eventually got to use airsoft guns so the arguing over who got hit was gone

Let’s all just admit the 80s kicked arse

I just want to eat sugary cereals and watch cartoons and movies all day

Again that memory is not 80’s specific, it’s called being a kid, and yes being a kid was awesome

We used bb guns, then paintball which actually hurt more. Lol
I've never played airsoft.
